Can't they just pad her up a bit- they did that for Jenifer Lewis and Darlene Love when they did the role on Broadway (they wore fat suits).

I didn't like him on Glee but I suppose I could fathom him as Link...I agree with whoever said that no one comes to mind immediately as being right for him.

What about  Andy Mientus for Link? Is he young enough looking? I think so. Would love to get away from the obvious and pick someone interesting.

Honestly I'm down for pretty much anyone to play Link except Darren Criss. Grant Gustin would be great, Nick Jonas is a pretty obvious choice, Ansel Elgort or James Maslow is an option, but I just do not want to sit through Darren in this role. Please Hairspray casting team, do me a solid. 

It's really too bad they won't look beyond a famous guy for the role because there's plenty of good looking and talented boys on Broadway who could do that role justice.

Darren won't be in this (thankfully). He's busy with the "Hedwig" tour - there's no possible way around it.

in what way in his presence constant? he hasn't been in a movie in 3 years, since Glee went off the air he's been in just a few TV shows. he doesn't seem to be anywhere really.

His presence in the social media world - mostly the Tumblr sphere has been constant - or at least it feels that way.

Granted I love Darren so I'm biased, but I actually do wish he was doing *more* these days! He's doing smaller gigs here and there, but I think I was spoiled by him doing Hedwig right off the bat and now I feel like there are large spans of time where he's kind of under the radar and it makes me sad haha. 

So yeah, in any case I really don't see how his presence, social media or otherwise, is constant... and I would definitely love to see him as Link if it were possible! I think he'd be great. I'm open to others as well, but I still just don't get the aversion people on here seem to have for him. 

(More than that I'd really love for him to do some more composing, but that's a whole other topic of conversation!)

Grant Gustin would be a decent choice but I'm pretty sure The flash would still be filming and it films in Vancouver so it would be impossible. He's the main character of that show.

I was thinking of her as amber too a mini victorious reunion. As far as Jennifer Hudson she probably will be padded up and in the movie queen latifah wasn't big either and she worked out great. I just hope they stiick to the Broadway script as much as possible especially with big blonde and beautiful and add in the big dollhouse, but use the movie's miss Baltimore crabs which flows better and keeps the story going.

Queen Latifah was definitely bigger than Jennfier Hudson. This is her at the 2007 AMA awards 
 



hudson will work though and she has a phenomenal voice.
