I assumed they meant they messaged James on Instagram, but what do I know?

I've interviewed James several times for BWW and a friendship between us developed. He's also my vocal coach and was of tremendous help to me a few years ago when I was having difficulty singing some of the more complicated passages in Handel's MESSIAH.

Someone in that thread mentioned there was an investigation… love how this is being swept under the rug. If it was something horrible, I hope James’ family is doing okay.

Shockingly, I’ve won three times now. Once for a show this past week, and twice for shows next week. I’m obviously not going to all 3 but I was extremely surprised when I got the emails about next week! I haven’t had the seat locations yet but I’ll come back to the boards to report back next week on where they were located.

INVESTIGATION?
This seems to be more than a "family matter" that James mentioned to me. I'll bow out of this discussion right now and trust that James will be more specific about the situation when he feels it's appropriate.
I won the Friday Forty for Sunday night, and I'm also wondering where the seats are. Was looking forward to seeing James Snyder as Harry, sad he's no longer with the show. I saw the original West End and Broadway productions, so I'm curious to see the new versions.
I might have an extra ticket for Sunday night. Would anyone be interested in going? Please PM me.
Formerly theatrefreak25. Haven't been on the boards for a few years and my old account no longer worked
Caught this evening's performance. The balcony was closed and I'd say the orchestra was at least 2/3 full. I didn't get a chance to see the mezzanine.
This was a return trip as I saw the original company a couple months into the run. Overall, I missed the production feeling like an "event". It was a Tuesday night and the audience was absolutely awful. The drunk, cackling tourists behind me were asked to leave (and they did) at intermission, and another family brought a child that could not have been more than two and whom was fussing and crying throughout. I felt terrible for the poor kid being in such an overwhelming situation. Long story short, the audience was day/night compared to what I had the first time. The show definitely suffers when you don't have that Potter fan energy to carry you throughout.
I felt sorry for the actors who were all giving their all. Stephen Spinella in particular offered a very interesting and defined take on Snape. I also greatly enjoyed Karen Janes Woditsch as McGonogall and Umbridge. Brady Dalton Richards is a joy as Scorpius, and I thought Steve Haggard was a more than suitable Potter.
The entire night was "meh", but it was no fault on the actors' part. They truly were giving their all but the audience was just not there for them. Furthermore, the play is so streamlined now that we never had a moment to breathe and register the relationships, themes, and other dramatic goodies that are in Thorne's piece.
John Tiffany's staging/direction is still on point and the physical production and stage magic are as enchanting as ever. Seriously, not enough can be said for the magic of practical effects. The trap doors, slight of hand, and other tricks that date back to the beginning of theatrical storytelling still hold true in proving why theater moves us so.
All in all it was a fine night. I can't say I'm disappointed but I am reminded of how wonderful that first performance I saw right after opening was. I think my sister put it best in that I'll only return if I go on a night that I know a big Harry Potter crowd will be in attendance. As you can see, I'm chasing that Harry Potter high I got my first time around LOL.
So I won the Friday Forty and to my surprise it was not a bad seat at ALL….aside from the fact that there was someone taller in front of me. I was basically leaning to one side the whole show.
The good:
The magic, the effects, the performers are amazing. They’re giving everything. I don’t have any criticisms.
The bad: the new material feels a bit rushed. We go from Albus in his first year at Hogwarts to Harry mentioning something about his third year in what felt like the blink of an eye. The beginning part of the first act felt very rushed. As they got further in it slowed down, which was good. The end of the first act still had me reacting the same way as I did the first time I saw it, just awe. In a good way though!!
I agree-the audience was AWFUL. I had to turn around due to people talking (although that could have been light/sound board operators behind me). Many phones out. I had to tell someone to please put their phone away. I don’t know why they allow crunchy foods in the theater-the second act, someone behind me was crunching and it was distracting.

I totally agree with this. It feels like a typical evening at the theatre (not that it's a bad thing, but it's definitely different).

I'm not a fan of his portrayal. It's impossible to not compare to Alan Rickman, but I just don't "feel" it. And the "other" character he plays is just horrible...like a Disney villain high on sugar.
Brady Dalton Richards is a joy as Scorpius
I personally can't stand his interpretation. Anthony Boyle's interpretation certainly made the character the star of the show. Richards' performances is too over-the-top that Albus is elevated instead.
Furthermore, the play is so streamlined now that we never had a moment to breathe and register the relationships, themes, and other dramatic goodies that are in Thorne's piece.
I agree that the first 15 minutes does feel a bit rushed, but I think the rest is more focused now.
I've seen it a few times now in this version, and fortunately have not experienced any poor audience behavior. Everyone was behaving themselves.

I am jealous. It didn’t reallly affect my ability to enjoy the play, it was just annoying. Hopefully whatever show I go to next, they’ll be better behaved!
