@adoxographer you are so sweet - I hope you and your friends get in!

@nrubanobroadway - I wouldn't completely bank on there being a scalper selling tickets outside before the show. We didn't see any on Friday or before Saturday matinee, but we did see a few people with signs looking for tickets who were never approached by anyone (one woman had a sign that said "need 1 ticket- will pay $100!" which gave everyone a good laugh... by just before showtime she changed it to "will pay $200!" ) If you have time/energy to do the cancellation line, it is definitely worth it!

@secondstar32 It was so awesome that you guys got in- I can't believe everyone in front of us turned down standing room! (We were the couple you talked to at intermission) HOORAY FOR LINE NEIGHBORS!

I'm curious about how Saturday night went- anyone on here get in? We were so tired and slept for like twelve hours.

"

Yes, that is how it works! We got into the Saturday matinee and everyone in front of us turned down the matinee because the tickets were for the standing room. They all stayed and waited for the evening show. All of them had been there for at least the full day before AND overnight!

Does that mean SRO would have been available to someone who showed up last minute because they were declined by those waiting?  I want to make this work, but every time in my life i have tried an overnight it has resulted in me falling asleep during the show.

If anyone (and their friend) is planning to be on the line for shows on June 10-11 and would be willing to stand for my friend and me, please message me. We would be interested in becoming friends and buying your tickets. Thanks!

blaxx there is no way of knowing tbh. Some people have showed up at 3 pm and gotten in that day if there are a lot of tickets. But yeah if people in front of you pass on tickets then you can scoop them up. Also premium tickets come out earliest if you are willing to pay 477 for a ticket and not have to wait in line so long, though those are being picked up by line sitters a lot recently.

If you don't want to stay overnight maybe get there as early as possible in the morning? Scalpers know about the cancellation line so if they have tickets to offer they know where to go tbh.

Also-still debating doing the cancellation line June 18th/19th and still need a line buddy if anyone wants to partner up!

Thanks gatorgirl2, you're a doll. I'll give it a try a couple times in the next few days; just join the line at some point on Saturday and Wednesday and see what happens.

Can someone do the night and switch during the day? I'd be willing to wait during the day on June 15th if someone can wait overnight on June 14th, if it is at possible.

Like gatorgirl2 said, there's really no way of knowing. I think either our super long wait was either a fluke or a sign of the way things will be for the next month or so. I was surprised by how many people turned down SRO and would be surprised if it happened again! The last person to get into our show arrived at 3 pm the day before.

That is technically swapping which isn't allowed. However if you show up and say you only want two tickets and that your friend is coming later you could probably switch out for a few hours at night and take turns that way. But I definitely wouldn't leave for the whole night. Really depends on the people behind you and if they care or not.

That was my only hope Hamilton Cancellation Line No way I would stay awake for the show with no sleep. Or do people actually sleep there?  Sounds scary and risky.

Sorry guys, Rookie here.  I'm a tad bit confused.  If you do an all nighter in the cancelation line when do the tickets go on sale?  Right before the performance? Aaanndd, we'd be sleepy and sticky? .smile.

People sleep there all the time. As long as you don't fall asleep with your phone out in the open you are fine. There will be plenty of people camping out with you.  I'm sure if you buddy up with someone and get a room nearby you could take turns getting a couple of hours sleep but like I said if you were there during the day and swapped out with someone for the night the people behind you have a right to complain since that is against the rules. Maybe if your buddy and you show up at the same time and then take separate breaks at night you would be fine.

Box office opens at 10 am. Tickets can be offered at any time until the show starts. Premium are normally offered first and they are 477 each. Some on here have seen house tickets (177) offered early but the norm seems to be earliest 30 minutes before the show. I got my tickets at 7:50.

You are pretty much in the shade all day and you can take bathroom breaks to freshen up so no just bring deoardant and a change of clothes to change into closer to show time and you will not be sticky.

I personally couldn't sleep the night before and I was wide awake for the show. The show also goes by super fast and its not like there are many lulls in it so. Personally did not feel exhausted till about 12:30 at night which is almost an hour and half after the show ended. Even managed to stay awake during the Sat matinee show I saw the next day. Its not like you are doing laps around Times Square before the show you literally just are sitting and standing in line. But I'm also a night owl so maybe thats just me.

Does the theater offer a coat check to check in backpacks (or a sleeping bag >_>Hamilton Cancellation Line? Or do people just bring it in with them?

You really won't have any time after getting your last minute ticket to do much but get in your seat. Most people I was waiting with last week just threw there pillows and such in the trash. I had a small tote with my change if clothing and toiletries that barely fit under my chair but it was fine.

Besides LIn, does anyone know if any cast members are out on designated days? I saw it on a Thursday but Philiipa was out, just wondering if that is ongoing. Her replacement was fantastic though!

No planned days no. It's kind of a crap shoot. It seems like most of the cast is showing up nowadays but you can never be sure.

We got in at like 1:57 and after we bought our tickets and walked into the theater, we walked straight past the bag check. Putting our bags there took about 15 seconds (so quick that we forgot to grab our tissues and had to run back at intermission in anticipation of act 2!). I think everyone in the theater knows you're in a rush at that point and is quick to help you out!

I'm not certain about this, but I think 2 people waiting for 4 tickets in an arrangement like this may be problematic.  The 2 people who are actually waiting would be entitled to tickets before their "plus ones," of course.  So if a pair is offered and they purchase them and go in immediately as required, their 2 "plus ones," who almost certainly arrived much later than those right behind them, would (I think) not be permitted to purchase the next pair.  I think the only way this could work is if 4 tickets are offered  at the same time, and each of the 2 people who actually did the waiting purchase 2.  Not sure how often that happens

Been lurking here for the last 2 months, and have enjoyed reading all the tips and sharing the experiences of the people here! Hubby and I are planning to try for Sat shows this weekend, we will be joining the line on Friday evening sometime.  I know there's no way to predict how it will go down on Sat and if we'll get a shot or not, but my fingers are crossed!  It's our 25th anniversary trip to NYC, my first time, and I am very excited!  If any of you are planning to be in the line on Fri/Sat, I'll look forward to seeing you there.

I think lining up on Friday night before a Saturday show would be risky, especially for the show right before the Tonys. We got there 11am on Friday and were 19th and 20th in line overnight, with at least another dozen people behind us. Planning to wait for at least 2 days might be a safer idea!
