Thats me! Arrived 5am, only "single" wanting a premium so managed to get in. Crossing my fingers for everyone else - we had lots of fun playing heads up!
(premiums still $477)

When did you get there? I have never even heard of premium tickets getting released to the cancellation line. Is it common?
"Not everyday. But yes, premium tickets are released earlier before the show."

I know it's probably different everyday but is it generally earlier than the other tickets? When I did the cancellation line last week I ended up with lottery seats that got released just after 6 for an 8 o'clock show

May I ask where is your premium seat located? Row/Seat?
My sister wants to see the show again, she gots the Hamilitis after I treated her last week. Her pockets aren't as deep as mine and thought the sitter route would be cheaper for her than last minute StubHub purchase so I figured splitting the cost would work but that isn't an option anymore. A premium is pricey for her but if she got a decent seat she would be happy.
Thanks for sharing! Oh! And how long did you wait on line for?
Monday night 7:20pm walk by the theatre on my walk home: there is no one in front of the theatre right now! There are two RR workers standing by the doors, and a woman leaning on the steps to rearrange her shopping bags, but there's no cancellation line. Surprised me so much I just checked to see if Hamilton has a Tuesday show tomorrow night (yes.) 24 hour waits, at least for tomorrow, aren't happening. Very surprised!

Where you the only single or the only single who wanted premiums? Would another single (who wanted regular price) have gotten in?
Today was not great. I arrived about 3:15pm and think I was number 19 or so, but other people's +1 came at the last minute so it was hard to tell. It did not really matter; however, because only 4 tickets and 1 SRO were sold.
From speaking with other people, the earliest people arrived around midnight, and 1 single premium ticket was sold earlier in the day. Someone that got there at 3:50am did not get tickets. Lil Wayne showed up about 5 minutes before and when his driver opened the door, the smell of weed was overwhelming, so I feel bad for whoever he sat by. There were no line sitters as far as I could tell. Also, they did not start at 6:30 as said, no tickets were given (besides the single premium earlier) until 6:50. There was an event at the RR earlier, so maybe some tickets went to them, IDK. Lastly, there did not seem to be any workers policing the line whatsoever. A bunch of people in the front of the line were not there when I got there at 3 and didn't appear to be with people, so not sure how that happened. But they didn't get tix, so it was a moot point. On the plus side, everyone was really nice and it was an enjoyable experience, but not one that I would repeat.Good luck to everyone who tries!
Hi all! I've been reading this board for the past month in preparation for our trip in about three weeks, and I finally joined so I could post a message as well.
My family and I are going to try for one of the Wednesday shows, preferably the matinee because we don't want to get home too late as it is a work day the next day and I have exams as well. There are a total of 5 of us: me, my two younger sisters, my mom and my dad. We already know this is an extremely unfortunate number since tickets can only be bought at most in pairs, so we would need three spots in line. (two spots would be buying a pair of tickets and one spot for a single ticket)
Our current plan is to go up to NY night before and scope out the status of the line. If there is already a large number of people in line, we are prepared to wait in line and spend the night. However, if there is no one or not many people there, we would much rather go to our hotel and get some sleep in a real bed and head out at any time from 3am-5am. Now, I have a couple questions...
1) I am aware that Wednesdays are the worst for cancellation lines, but knowing the times that we are getting there, do you think my family and I will be safe with the recent decrease in linesitters? We want to buy standard tickets, not premium.
2) With all the new cancellation line policies, I am still slightly confused if it would it be possible for three people from my family to remain in line to hold our spots and the other two to leave the line and then continually swap out throughout the day without people hammering us for it. We are all hoping to watch the show, so is that okay or..?
3) Are there two lines for the matinee and the evening performance or is it just one big line? What would happen if we waited for the matinee and didn't get in, and then tried for the evening performance? Where would be in line?
4) A couple pages back, someone posted their story about a man waiting for a single ticket who was debating about taking a mother who couldn't go in with her daughters. Why is this a problem? Are pairs of tickets less common than singles and he didn't want to take the risk? Or, did he just not want to sit with a stranger? (I think the exact post is #1389)
5) (this is about stage dooring and i'm sure theres another message board for this, but i would really appreciate if someone could answer this too) How long does the stage door line go? Obviously people just can't keep lining up, so when/where is the limit?
This is basically our only shot (trying so hard to refrain from making a hamilpun here) to see the show with the OBC before the Tony's since we are leaving for a two week vacation on June 10th. My sisters and I are HUGE fans, and we've dragged our father into it as well. So my family and I would GREATLY appreciate any other tips or tricks you guys have. Thank you so much!!! Sorry this was so long!

I venture to guess that there were so few tickets available today because many of the house tickets went to people involved with the event today— a Sirius radio Broadway station Town Hall with Anderson Cooper. Just a guess though.

Re: question 4, the issue/question has to do with waiting on line for one number of tickets, and then buying another number of tickets. Say for example your three family members get on line and say they're buying five tickets, two people buying pairs and one person buying a single, like you said. Let's say you're the first people on line, numbers 1-5. People get on line behind you thinking they're numbers 6, 7, 8, etc. Then suddenly hours later you decide your third person is going to buy a pair too. On behalf of someone who just showed up, who should be # 20something on line. It's well within the "rules" that your third person can change his mind at any time and buy two tickets instead of one. It's just kind of a crap "spirit of the rules" situation, depending on your point of view, where hours into the wait you change it up like that, and the guy who thought he'd be # 6 is now #7, etc.
And I don't understand what #5 is asking? How long as in length of time? People wait at the stage door as long as they're willing to wait; actors sign as long as they're willing to sign. How long as in physically how far down the street people can line up? There will be barricades, and maybe cops trying to keep people out of the street, etc. but the line pretty much goes as far down the sidewalk as it goes.

There is no orderly line at the stage door. It is more a mob up against barricades. A friendly mob though. :)

Bummed you didn't get tickets, but sounds like you had fun and were a good sport and I loved reading your recap - if ever Hamilton could be summed up in two sentences I think these are them. :)

Did you check the front of Hotel Edison/Finding Neverland across the street? Normally during the show, the cancellation line is temporarily moved there.

Needing 5 tickets is quite a gamble, I wouldn't quite call it the safe zone. Be prepared to not all get in and discuss "Who Lives, Who Dies Who Sees Lin's Story" beforehand.
2) With all the new cancellation line policies, I am still slightly confused if it would it be possible for three people from my family to remain in line to hold our spots and the other two to leave the line and then continually swap out throughout the day without people hammering us for it. The new rules state no line swapping or holding. Any bathroom breaks would be with the understanding amongst fellow people in line for one to take the quick run. You need 5 tickets and 3 people to do it with so I don't think one member of the family can "hold" the other two spots for swapping purposes. In the past, it was always a 1-for-1 swap for breaks. 3) Are there two lines for the matinee and the evening performance or is it just one big line? What would happen if we waited for the matinee and didn't get in, and then tried for the evening performance? Where would be in line?
I've never done a matinee line but reading here all of these months, it's been one continuous line. Anyone who fails in getting in the matinee, would stay on and try for the evening performance. If anyone shows up at Tuesday at 2pm stating they are first for Wednesday evening, then everyone would need to be behind them after the matinee folks get in.. 4) A couple pages back, someone posted their story about a man waiting for a single ticket who was debating about taking a mother who couldn't go in with her daughters. I don't think you wanna take the risk after investing all of the time in the line. To go into an agreement about buddying up and it backfires where no one gets in. 5) (this is about stage dooring and i'm sure theres another message board for this, but i would really appreciate if someone could answer this too) How long does the stage door line go? There is no line, per say. The stage door is barricaded for several yards and when the show lets out, I found it 5 people deep. so find a spot to squeeze in and enjoy!

No! Is that a new thing? I usually see a line sitter or three on my side of the street on my walk home, that's why I was so surprised to not see anyone tonight. But how does that work when FN has their own show loading in/their own stage door happening after? I'll check both sides of the street tomorrow.

Haha, too true! I also want to add a note about potential scalpers for everyone's information.. A man came by with a printed ticket saying the face value was $250 but he would sell for $500. Apparently he's there frequently. I think he is running a scam because a) he would not go in with the person who wanted to buy them to make sure they scan. they actually got into a heated debate on the street about this b) I don't think tickets go for $250 face value, I thought it was $177 and then $477, or something like that, but no in between. Also, a man came from a company that has their office in the Marriott and was offering $600 for a single ticket or $1400 for 2. He admitted the tickets were also on Stubhub.
You don't think they would get rid of overnight waits do you? I mean that would be great for me because I don't want my mom to have to sleep on the street with me (lmao) but it would seem like a strange choice.

Definitely a scam. Tickets are only 177 and 477 at most in the bo. Bad sign if he won't go in with you. Not a bargain and i don't trust him

My read of the OP here was not one person holding three places, but that they would keep three people on line at all times, and the two people not on line would swap out with the three people throughout the day, to give breaks, but always keeping three bodies (to buy five tickets) on the line. And that would be ok with me if it was happening in front of me, although that too goes against the posted rules.
