I'll use it to enter the lotto each day. It's easier and more convenient than the webpage, mainly because no captcha is required and I'll get notified of the outcome on my phone instead of having to check the throwaway email I use for such things.

They're not getting news coverage every time Lin sneezes anymore, so they had to do something to manufacture buzz.
People will use it to enter the lottery, but what casual theater goer will use this in a diehard fan kind of way? It's useful to buy tickets/enter the lottery, but's it's not much better to use for anything else. It's a cute idea, one fans will love, but they overhyped this a little much. I was actually looking forward to a casting announcement/mixtape news lol
like this is kind of a cool thing but it didn't need this several day build-up, they could have just announced it out of the blue. tbh the surprise release of the hamilton instrumental album would have warranted a build-up more than this app imo

I don't feel any differently about the show itself than I did before, but if no more announcements come today, this marketing has really jumped the shot.

Google that so you learn it's origin. We older folks know as we actually watched that episode when it originally aired.
I don't disagree with the notion of an app, but this one wasn't even spectacularly well done. I now wish it would have been some kind of secret album drop for the mixtape.
It's been over 12 hours since I installed the app and I have still not received an email verification. Furthermore, I entered the 3 lotteries that were available and only got a push notification that I lost one of them. The lottery page on the app itself didn't update and I didn't receive emails on any of them.
It's going to suck if I win the lottery someday and the stupid app neglects to tell me....
I'm assuming you checked your spam folder? The email I got said that since they had such an influx of emails they automatically verified my account. I couldn't enter the lottos until after that happened, so if you're able to enter, maybe yours was too?
There are 5 lottos available currently, are you sure 2 of the ones you entered weren't Sunday's? (Which aren't closed yet.) I mean this sincerely, as I find the app somewhat user unfriendly. Also, if you aren't talking about the LA lotteries, disregard.

I only entered the Friday lottery via the app -- since I couldn't find the Saturday lotteries. Until I saw your "for the technologically challenged" post above. Thanks for that, btw. I don't think I'm technologically challenged; I just think the app was poorly designed. But I digress....
So, I entered the 2 Saturday lotteries via the website. However, I received no email or notifications on either of those, which is really messed up since technically those entries have nothing to do with the app at all!

Yeah, the one push notification I got was gone in a blink of an eye. I think I'm going to install the app on my tablet, too, as notifications there are much easier to spot and read.
But the app's FAQ specifically asks "Haven't' received your notification? Don't worry - you can check your status by going to the lottery page in the App."
Well, the lottery page in my App still says "Thank You! You Have Successfully Entered the Lottery for Aug 11 - 8:00PM Check Back Later."
I sent an email to Lucky Seat Support and received an automatic response telling me to restart the app to trigger the email verification. Tried it. Didn't work. Even rebooted the phone. Same non-result.
Furthermore, the automatic response restates that All entrants who entered through the Lucky Seat Website will receive an email notification advising if they have won or lost the drawing. That obviously has did not happen in my case.
The app seems to be working better today. I just got my notification for the Sunday Matinee (didn't win) and when I went to look at the in app lotto page it's showing the status. Which it wasn't yesterday, as PepperedSheperd noted.
A brand new app with the traffic this one must be receiving is bound to have some errors. Give the app creators a break! I'm sure they're working on it.
I tried to enter for today and it seems that now its 2 days in advance. Both on the app and online. Does anyone know when they notifiy you if its for two days in advance? Do they let you know at least the day before?
