What does a Hamilton app even do, send you alerts every time someone purchases another absurdly-priced ticket from a scalper?
I think it lets you enter the lottery, but still. I don't get why a Hamilton app is necessary. It's a Broadway musical, not a TV show or video game."
I don't get it; there's been a free "Ham" app out there for years now that does that just fine.
At this point it just seems like the producers are trying to brand anything they can get as Hamilton. If you are a part of a multi-media news site that launches their own app, that's fine. But Hamilton is a musical. A highly successful musical, yes, but a musical nonetheless. What can we really do on a Hamilton app that hasn't been done already? Watch videos, get casting info, donate to Ham4All, enter the lottery, that's cool. But at the end of the day, it feels so unnecessary to have an app just for Hamilton.
It's all about keeping the show relevant and at the forefront of people's minds. People download the app, turn on notifications and get reminded that Hamilton exists on a regular basis. Seems pretty obvious to me.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Can't afford a ticket to the show? Well, here's an app to send you notifications that you still can't afford a ticket to the show. But you can look at content, or something.
