All over, they sold 1200 tickets out of a possible ~1900 the theater seats, so they basically sold all kind of seats slightly randomly.

They announced that they went through all of the gold wristbands and that the black ones could purchase tickets from what of the best available they had for the performances of the first 6 weeks of previews.

So of the 1600 seats in the theater, I can say the first 15 people where I was got rows A-D closest to the main center orchestra aisle

What an awesome experience! The staff, including security, was wonderful. Met so many great people, it was so worth it! I got there around 10am, ended up with row f seat 26 and 28. Cast was so nice staying to say hello to all those in line. Can't wait until Friday!

I am amazed and pleasantly surprised that those are the only tickets posted on stubhub, though! Even with a two ticket limit I would have expected scalpers to queue up.
By the way, I was told that no other tickets will be sold to the public for the first previews. The rest of the tickets would be for cast & crew.

I have tried buying tickets numerous times online (not on line) via the TICKETMASTER site; I choose the date, they show me my seats, I fill in all of my payment information, and when I hit SUBMIT I get an error message. "Sorry. Something went wrong. Please try again."
So, I try again, sometimes ending up with the same seats, same message. Anyone else having the problem?
I'm curious whether a lot of tickets for the remainder of its run will be returned by the people who were able to wait and but those $40 tickets yesterday at the box office. I guess we'll see later this week.

Those were just for the first preview this Fri/Sat so they won't impact the rest of the run.
It will impact the rest of the run. For example, I have $130 seats for August. If I had gotten $40 seats for the first preview, I would have attended that and returned my August tickets.
Of course that applies only to people who previously purchased tickets, and maybe some would handle their extra tickets another way, but I bet there will be returns now for performances throughout the run.

You're right. I misread!

You searched too many times and Ticketmaster flagged you as a potential bot. Clear your browser history and that should disappear. That is the lesser warning. They can also boot you form the site for 24 hours if you are searching a lot.

It was a very well run line yesterday, and really one of the best line waiting experiences I have had. I was surprised how slowly the line grew, I expected it to be much longer when I got there around 9:30.
I was expecting to have to spend a couple years playing the Friday Forty to see this and am so excited to have the chance to see it so soon and with the original cast, and with great seats!
I will say that all of their wording has been very vague and confusing. I got in line uncertain if I would be able to buy one ticket per part or two, and I thought it was 600 tickets per performance for a total of 1200.

I'm taking a few minutes to write out my thoughts on yesterday. This was a fantastic gift from the producers-they certainly did not need to do this. They could have sold the whole first preview at premium prices, and it would have sold out instantly. Thy did this for the fans, and those of us in line were quite grateful they did.
Nearly everyone I was with in line, from around numbers 60-80, already have tickets for the show at a later date, and couldn't resist the opportunity to get tickets for the first performances. No one I was with has the intention of returning tickets, everyone is either going again, or has a family member in mind who will get the tickets.
They did a good job of taking care of us in line, from the coffee and donuts to the bottled water to the pizza right at the end, and selling the tickets over 90 minutes early was just another nice part of the experience.
I am looking forward to being in the first US audience to see what is likely to become the biggest hit play in years.

Well, that is unfortunate that Ticketmaster does not like me looking to see if I can get a better seat. I am only buying one ticket. Wouldn't a bot be buying multiple tix?

Now there are 69 out of the 1200 tickets sold on saturday on stubhub for $300+ meaning there were at least 30+ people on that line who had no intention of seeing the play and just took that opportunity away from true fans. Was there really no way to stop this?
