For those that have seen the show, at the end of the show when the Villagers are posing as Missionaries, the Warlord introduces himself as "Elder ButtF**kingNaked."
Even in the Cast Recording, he introduces himself this way.
However, I am hearing that he is now just introducing himself as "Elder Warlord".
Is this true, or was it just changed to "Elder BFN"?
During previews he introduced himself as "Elder Warlord," but when I saw the show in June he called himself "Elder BFN"
If I remember correctly it was Elder BFN.

Thanks. I am glad it isn't the other way around. I think that line is hilarious.
I thought it was funnier when it was just Warlord.

Samezies.
I keep thinking they should update the lyric about Johnny Cochran by replacing him with Jose Baez. "I got Casey free..." No?

As a non-fan of the show --
One of the few times I laughed out loud was when he said "I'm Elder Butt-****ing-naked" .... They sang that obnoxious song with normal one or two syllable names so many times and then for him to say that was one of the few laugh-out-loud moments for me. Loved it. "Warlord" isn't funny because it is the fact that he keeps his "general" name after... Maybe it is really his name because it is African? ... That's the comedy.
Was he known as General BFN in the previews or was that changed as well?
For the majority of previews, he was just "General Warlord", which I didn't think was near as funny as when they changed it up to "General BFN".

Except that Johnnie Cochran is dead and could presumably be in Mormon hell. Jose Baez is not dead and thus the joke would be topical, but would lose the punch of actually being about people who could be waiting for him in Mormon hell.
^the Baez thing was the first thing my mom pointed out when listening that song after the verdict was reached.
I'm pretty sure that he was General Warlord during most of the previews, and it was changed when the show opened
Elder BFN...as of Wednesday, anyway.
Too many people are WAY too upset about Casey...it's too soon to make light of it. (And of course the thing about Jose Baez not being dead makes gads of sense, too.)

I think it changed around second week of March, for anybody who cares.

When I saw it on March 19th, it was definitely BFN.

On a Wednesday matinee a couple of weeks ago, it was Warlord. Wonder if this is a matinee change. Seems crazy to do with everything else the same.
That would be interesting if they are switching it around.
Any chance it was an understudy filling in?
Did you notice if anything else was changed?
It's been Elder BFN since it opened.
There are no matinee alternate lyrics, no understudies messing up the line, etc.
The confusion is arising from people "hearing" and "seeing" the show during its preview period. If you get what I mean...
It's 'Elder BFN' in the script and has been that way since late in previews. 'Elder Warlord' got a big laugh. 'Elder BFN' causes pandemonium and momentarily stops the show.
