I know why but I cannot believe Ella Beatty is about to be in another show when her performance in Ghosts was to put it lightly - horrible.

New York casting offices when they see a famous last name.
To cut old Ell some slack, Julliard actors have a tendency to be a little tentative just out of the gate. I remember seeing the earliest performances of Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver and thinking "Meh."
Good for them for bringing Strindberg back. At his best, Strindberg was a way better playwright than both Ibsen and Chekhov, IMO.

Sorry, but Ella is truly one of the most energyless actors I've ever seen live (and I've seen her in a few things now). Nepobabyism aside, I really don't know how they keep casting her. I've only ever heard her act in a monotone emotionless voice. So confusing...
These really haven't sold like I thought they would and looks like they've already raised prices.

Yeah, she can't act, it's really kind of embarrassing that her parents keep buying her roles in New York.

they haven't really made a big deal about the tickets going onsale today tbh
They didn't advertise at all and the wording is very weird, overstuffed and confusing so the soft sales don't surprise me.

Well, maybe not confusing per say, but part of me suspects the median New York theatergoer might not be jumping out of their skin at these titles - do you really want to go watch Sexual Perversions of the Middle Class or see some Creditors?
