I was gonna say Mandy Moore too...sorry, but I am a little bit in love with her. (And it isn't as bad as me wanting to see Christina Aguilera play Mimi or Elphaba)

Jen Simard as Belle.
But I would rather see her as Galinda in Wicked.
I would love a spoof of Belle staring Kathy from the Kathy and Mo show.
She could play a grown up Belle, Snow White and others.
That would be fun. And I would love to see Jackie Hoffman as the evil witch in Snow White, she would be hilarious.
Jackie Hoffman is hysterical.

I'm going to agree with Anneliese Van Der Pol. She has a fantastic voice and I think she could pull it off.

Mandy Moore, Neve Campbell has the right look if she can sing the role, Dakota Fanning obviously when she's finished the Les Mis film... she'll be so great as Valjean!

My first thought before even reading the responses was Mandy Moore; but I also really like the idea of Anne Hathaway.

I'd go for it Zoran. She auditioned for the show when it was first beginning, but she figured they weren't ready for a black Belle at the time. While I generally think Belle's should be a little younger, who wouldn't want Audra as Belle?

Annalise Van Der Pol- did you see her during the RAVEN musical episode... doing her CHICAGO like song... she's got a great voice.

Anne Hathaway- Two words- ELLA ENCHANTED- she can handle it.

Mandy Moore- Good pop voice... she can handle it.

As mentioned, Annelise, Mandy, and Anne all sound like suitable candidates..

Personally, I'de love to see Stacie Morgain Lewis take a shot at Belle. I think she could really pull it off.. I was also going to say Audra, but since she's already been said, I second that! lol

Most of all however, I would LOVE to see Lea Solanga in the role. I think she'de be amazing!

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

As good as Mandy Moore would be, she's said publicly that she would love to do Broadway, but she'd NEVER do Beauty and the Beast or something like that. She wants to do something "special". I think what she was meaning when she said that, was that she wants to orginate a role.

I agree with Anne-super cute.

Also-no idea if she sings or not, but supposing she could; Rachel McAdams, would be very sweet in this role.
