Has anyone seen the awful Ang Lee movie RIDE WITH THE DEVIL? Jewel is not even acting enough for it to be considered bad acting, whatever it is she calls acting isn't it, so I certainly hope there's no way in hell she'd be a part of this project.

For whatever reason, I want the Baker's Wife to at least suggest the idea that she could be matronly.

You know ... a mother type.

Anne Hathaway doesn't do that for me. Neither does Reece Witherspoon, who looks like she'd just as soon eat her young.

Nina Arianda, on the other hand ... yes.

I'm a shameless fan of Jewel's Christmas album, which is more traditional and traditional country than one would assume from her. She shows some head voice/soprano range in her "Ave Maria" among other tracks. Not that she's a perfect Cinderella type vocally or acting wise, but it's an interesting choice. If she can act. Please let all of the cast be good actors at the very least.
