umm, he's joking. lighten up jacobtsf ... i'm pretty sure Scripps saw the show in London.
I've been rooting for Alexander Hanson to win the Best Actor in a Musical Olivier Award for his portrayal ever since the show closed here, and I wish him all the luck in the world across the pond.
I'm so excited!!! I'm especially excited for Leigh Ann Larkin and Bradley Dean!!! (I saw Leigh Ann in Gypsy and Bradley Dean in Spamalot)
UPCOMING SHOWS***La Cage Aux Folles-4/9, Lend Me A Tenor-4/10, Next to Normal-4/10, Legally Blonde tour-6/5, Jersey Boys-6/9, A Little Night Music-6/9, Addams Family-6/10
Very excited for Erin Davie. I'm glad that turned out to be true. Totally underwhelmed about Frederick after all of the hoopla, but honestly, as long as he's good, that's what matters. I hope he will be.
Hanson was very good in London. In fact, he and Maureen Lipman were the only ones who really "got" the style of the show. Waddingham, good as she was, didn't quite settle into the role until the end of Act 1. I am surprised that Hanson is transferring as I don't think he was that essential to the production, but he'll be a fine Frederik. And the rest of the casting is wonderful. Looks like I'll have to see this production again. I'm hoping it really "clicks" this time.
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.
I would assume Lansbury and Zeta-Jones will be above the title, so if they are both nominated for a Tony, wouldn't they be competing for the same Tony?
I'm tired of Angie snapping up roles that should have gone to someone else. First Deuce, then Blithe Spirit, now this. Well I certainly won't be getting a ticket.
Well, Nunn was insisting on Waddingham. So, he was probably fighting for both of his London leads to come over. Or at least, after Sondheim snagged Zeta-Jones, Nunn pushed for Hanson.
Anticlimactic for sure, but not as much as a non-star playing Desiree would have been. But Nunn certainly is loyal, it seems!
All I need now is a ticket in my hot little hand and we are all set.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

Yay! I assume that Betsy Morgan will understudy Anne and Marissa McGowan will understudy Petra and/or Charlotte, but can't tell from the rest. What a phenomenal cast!!!!
I'm not really interested in seeing Angela Lansbury win yet another Tony. Why? I mean, if she really is the best in her category, then why not, but she shouldn't win just because she's Angela Lansbury in a Sondheim show. I'm far more interested in seeing if Erin Davie is able to win a Tony for Charlotte like Patricia Elliot did. Davie was spectacular in GREY GARDENS (and should have been nominated over someone like Rebecca Luker), where she had excellent direction and excellent material to work with. She wasn't nearly as good in APPLAUSE, but you could still see that she was trying to create a character out of the crappy material. She was working with a not so great director and Ebersole was not at the top of her game. Hopefully in NIGHT MUSIC she'll be as good as she was in GREY GARDENS, I think she's fantastic.
