This seems to have morphed into an u/s thread kinda, so rather than start another thread entirely--
Spotted a tweet from James Snyder that he'll be out for vacation next week, but no idea exact dates/how long. I have no idea who his u/s is, actually.

I saw Charles when James was out over the summer. He did a good job, but I prefer Jame as Josh.

Uh oh, sounds like there's chaos at RR lobby because Menzel is out today (spotted a few tweets to that effect). At least her planned vacation starts this week, I suppose.
So if the stand-by goes on for the headliner for something unexpected like this, you can get a refund, OR keep your ticket and watch the s/b AND a later show with the headliner...How far out can you exercise the right to re-watch, or is that at the theater's discretion?
And there have been ticket dates on Ticketmaster that state Menzel will be out; if you buy a ticket tagged as such, do you still have a right to re-watch with Menzel for free? (That doesn't seem quite right...)

Jackie is wonderful as Elizabeth...I wish people would give her a chance...I get it though, people are going to the show to specifically see Idina...

"Was today a planned vacation day for Idina?"
No, her vacation doesn't start until Tues, according to Ticketmaster.

It's a lot of pressure on both Menzel and Burns; poor Burns, read that recent Broadway.com interview--being a s/b really is a thankless job, huh? The upcoming holiday season and December crunch will be...interesting. Hopefully Menzel doesn't miss another show, because the chaos around xmas would be awesomely terrible if people freaked out back in May.

Doubt it, as that is the point of warning people in advance. They are unique AFAIK in letting people watch the show AND come back again, so seems easy enough to just not allow that policy on those days.

Planning to try for lottery Tuesday to see Jackie. Will get lottery loser seats otherwise. I love her voice and want to see her doing this show.

Not surprised Idina couldn't perform today given that she flew to Nashville on Friday for that CMA thing then flew immediately back for a two show Saturday. Good that she has a few days off to replenish-- and as others have said who've seen her, Jackie is FANTASTIC.

Idina was out tonight. Anyone know if this was scheduled? She was on Kelly & Michael this morning and at the Billboard Women in Music luncheon.

Scheduled absences for IF/THEN have always been noted in Ticketmaster, as far as I know. This month is a bit exceptional, though; what with a (IMO ill-conceived) PR trip to the UK and at least a dozen talk show appearances/interviews through December, Menzel has missed four shows since Sunday now. She missed both Wednesday shows due to illness, supposedly. If still ill, she can probably do the single PR song such as K&M, but a full show would be pushing it; there was no singing at the Billboard awards thing (I think?) so that wouldn't be problematic. I think she's being stretched thin. Hopefully she recovers for this weekend.

I wonder if Jenn will ever go on for Idina. I've got my fingers crossed that it happens at least once.

Technically it would be Jenn going in for Jackie, right?

I can't believe she was out again last night. Jeesh. I empathize with her because clearly she is being stretched too thin, but missing 4 shows in a week is pretty rough.

I am a huge Idina fan but she is doing so many personal appearances promoting Her album. She just doesn't seem to be as committed. That's a lot to miss - especially during the holiday season. How would the rest of the cast feel - just curious. But I did see jackie and she was phenomenal.

Well, I didn't spot any angry tweets that Menzel is out for today's matinee, so I guess she's on.

Idina's promoting a new album and taking advantage of her recent popularity (not a Wicked reference, I swear…). I'm sure her management has an agreement worked out with the producers of If/Then. She probably has a few weeks of reduced pay, or a reduced number of shows she performs during these weeks, or that she must mention If/Then during appearances.

I'm sure there has been some sort of agreement made with the producers to excuse some of these absences. I wonder if the show is remotely close to recouping-- if it weren't, I can't imagine the producers wouldn't be extremely upset that she's missing so many performances during the holidays.

I know this question has probably been asked so many times, but now that the holidays are getting closer, how much longer does this show have?

^^I haven't seen most of her interviews, but I do hope she talks a little bit about the musical during this tourist season. I'm genuinely happy for Menzel's newfound mainstream success, but I happen to be rooting more for IF/THEN as an original musical than the headliner separately. The timing is just very...awkward, especially since her absences play such a huge role in grosses. Menzel still has a couple more appearances next week, and then hopefully she's consistently on during the period between 1st weekend pre-xmas to New Year's.
