When I purchased my tickets last August, I got one to see LMM (November), and another to see Javier (January). Unfortunately I had to bag my trip in January to see Javier because of the blizzard. Believe me I was bummed. Due to the extreme kindness by someone affiliated with the show, I was able to secure a ticket for March. He offered to do this for me, as I never would have asked this person about trying to get me a ticket, especially knowing he was inundated with ticket requests. I was absolutely thrilled when I found out my ticket was for when LMM was out on vacation so I'd be seeing Javier after all! He was wonderful. I really enjoyed reading that article in the NY Times about him.

I saw Javier in March. Initially, I was upset I wouldn't get the chance to see Lin (they announced the alternate schedule 2 days after I had purchased my tickets) because I think there's something special about seeing the creator of it all in the show. However, as soon as Javi stepped on that stage to a round of applause and started singing I was hooked. I loved everything about his performance and I feel lucky I got to see him. He was phenomenal.
I saw Javier the week before the Tonys (it was my third time altogether seeing the show) and he was truly wonderful. Like others have said, he doesn't quite have the same hyper energy that Lin does but that really only comes into play in the first act. Javi really comes into his own in the second act, and he has I can only describe as a grace about him. Not a natural rapper like Lin is, but an elegant, beautiful man with a great voice and tons of stage presence.
I haven't seen him in the show yet, but if he is anything like his Twitter feed and posts he seems like a very genuine person. I watched some of his You Tube videos and I would like to see the show again with him in it to see his portrayal. He sure is the king of snapchat too! Love me some sexy Javi!

Does anyone know how long his contract was? (1 year from July?)
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I went to his Facebook page as well but was showing last post as being February. I guess you need to friend someone first. Didn't know that."
Ah. That post is pinned on the top of his page's feed. It'll be there until his unpins it. If you "liked" his page (the one I linked), you can scroll down for newer posts. :)
Finally saw Javi last night....so worth the wait. Wonderful. He soared. Very moving.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I was really, really looking forward to seeing his performance. Hopefully Luwoye will be great as well, since that's who we'll most likely be seeing, but he won't have too many performances under his belt at that point in time.
Looks like Javi is taking a break on social media. I read his Twitter feed this morning. Stop by and show him some love. The guy is a true pro and an advocate of equal rights for everyone.

"Rest assured my silence is not due to bullying. No amount of bullies can silence me. It is the state if our world right now that weighs heavy on me. In light of all the negativity I'm taking time to nourish and replenish myself & my spirit while pouring my energies into 2 new projects that will be introduced to you soon. One project is with my fellow cast mates. The other will hopefully be with @STOMPOutBullyng and perhaps in the form of a JDoc series. I'm still offline til then. Keep loving and lifting each other up. This world needs your light.??"
