John Goodman is brilliant and his singing is FANTASTIC, but I don't know if it's suited for La Cage. It's really soulful and bluesy.
Here he is in BIG RIVER singing "Guv'ment"

BRILLIANT. Just don't see him as Georges.
Victor Garber is the best idea I've heard.
Would Garber be willing to do a replacement gig? Just curious.
Mike Rowe would be awesome, but shouldn't age relevant to Harvey be a consideration?
John Goodman....

And maybe they can bring in Billy Crystal to replace Harvey?

Szot was rumored for the role before the got Kelsey, I remember, as was Mandy Patinkin. I wonder if they'll approach either of them.
Johnathan Pryce is brilliant. He and Harvey can argue about whether or not they deserve best replacement Tonys.
Victor Garber replaced Richard Klein (or Tony Roberts) in They're Playing Our Song, I know...but that was in the late 70s/early 80s.

If he's THAT excited, it's got to be Mike Rowe.
He was THAT excited about Tambor too. I remember the word brilliant.
No idea if he can sing, but what about Dave Foley (of Newsradio and Kids in the Hall)? I think he'd be perfect. When he was much younger, I thought he would have been a PERFECT J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business...
Harvey's new Tweet:
They've made an offer to one of my favorite people to come join me in LA CAGE. I'm so excited!!! Can't wait to tell the world.
I'm secretly hoping it's Victor Garber but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Dick Latessa?
If Robin Williams wasn't doing Bengal Tiger I would suggest him -- I think he would be brilliant (he was fantastic in The Birdcage)
Julie Andrews a la "Victor/Victoria"
