i'm laying odds that it's Dick Latessa.

I thought Dick Latessa, too, but wouldn't they want to bring in the replacement sooner than he'd be available?
Dick Latessa is doing Little Miss Sunshine at La Jolla right now.

After the tweet, my first thought was Latessa, too. I wonder who else could be considered one of his "favorite people"?
Even if it were Latessa, isn't he a bit old? He's 80.
Grammer was 56. and Harvey is 58.

Yeah, I was gonna say...Latessa would be wrong for the role at this point.
I really hope it's not someone that will lure me back for a third time. Loved this revival, but I think twice was enough.
Georges should be around 40 years old .
But isn't Jean-Michel 24? Not that it isn't possible for him to have gotten Sybill pregnant when he was 16 but I think it's more likely that he was in his early 20s, in which case Georges should be about 50.
Yes, you're right. Georges says he's 20 but he corrects him. My bad.
I haven't read the libretto recently, but I always thought that Jean-Michel had just turned 21. I think a 45-50 year old Georges sounds the most appropriate, although I had no problem with Grammer, and I wouldn't have any with Patinkin.
I'm leaning towards Mandy. He finishes up COMPULSION next week, and Harvey has said in the past how much he loves the idea of Mandy playing Georges. It would be a coup.
To clarify:
Georges: ...You're twenty years old, Jean-Michel, there's plenty of time for other women besides Annisette.
Jean-Michel: Her name is Anne. And I'm twenty-four.
It could be Matthew Broderick.
Still hoping it's Victor Garber, though.

Matthew Brodrick is certainly one of Harvey's favorite people, having made their Broadway debut together and co-starred in the film. He's 49 this month and a box office name.
Twenty bucks says it'll be Tom Wopat.
Tom Wopat seems to be the most likely. He's not necessarily a draw for tickets but let's be honest, Jeffrey Tambor wasn't much of a draw either.
Are you guys kidding? Isn't Tom Wopat in rehearsals for Catch Me If You Can?
Oh good point. I forgot he was doing that. Maybe it's Orfeh.

Broderick would be pretty exciting...
Charlie Sheen
Who needs Ambien when we've got Broderick.
Charlie Sheen.
Because no one seems to be talking about him enough, these days.
Harvey fb-ed that he has to wait until tomorrow to announce it, but it was none of the commenters guesses. Victor Garbor was one of them, so he's out. Someone said they were very surprised about it. Hmmmm

I'd like to see Lee Roy Reams take a crack at it.
