Did I ever tell you all my "Defying Gravity" story? When the flying mechanism malfunctioned at the end of the song and dropped Shoshana Bean back to the stage as she was singing "never gonna bring me down"? Because THAT was funny.
"Goodness is rewarded. Hope is guaranteed. Laughter builds strong bones. Right will intercede. Things you've said I often find I need, indeed. I see the world through your eyes. What's black and white is colorized. The knowledge you most dearly prized I'm eager to employ. You said that life has infinite joys."

Not one person has given a description! Give us a play by play and tell us how good looking she was in green.
Flying or not, she had to have sang SOMETHING. Let's hear about that.

Does anyone know if she is doing the Wed mat? I was planning on going to the lottery. IF I won and it was her, I'd be happy to give an extensive review.

Tuesday was the last date I was told...so *shrugs* who knows...
You're always sorry,
You're always grateful,
You hold her, thinking:
"I'm not alone."
You're still alone.

My friend saw the performance and I asked him if she flew and he said yes......THEN after we got different stories on the same performance I asked him to describe it. and he said she only went up maybe 4 feet. Thats when I told him she usually goes higher, but he didnt even know the difference. He was on the Orch level so maybe people in the balc didnt notice, but she def was defying gravity, sorry for the confusion.
PS. He said you would have never have known it was her first performance, she was great.

There is a lot of bad information on this thread. Some of the 'experts' are not at all that.

Finally, a magic8ball speaks the truth. (And thats a slam to the toy, not you, darling. You're dead on.)
There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

All I can say is WOW!!
i was lucky enough to see the Sat mat . Ms Green's first performance as Elphie.
Just incredible, U would never know she had not done this role before, I have been a fan for a while, but this just blew me away.
First of all she looked beautiful Green, and her wig was quite Lovely in the second act.
And she looked spectaular in that Second act dress by Susan Hilferty.
Her voice was crystal clear and so confident, It has range and Beauty and it moved me to tears several times.
And the acting was just perfect, her growth from child to Woman was especially real, and she was the first Elphie I've seen who had cute moments, added so much too see her change.
In Defying Gravity, she did not fly at all.
I heard she was strapped in but the computer glinched and they have no Human back-up, Shame on them.
She was a trooper, She just stood there and sang,
I don't think she broke down and cried after, that ain't Jenna.
I can't say enough about how amazing she was!
I heard talk that the understudy in NY is going to Chicago, they should snatch Jenna up for NY, I hope Steven Schwartz gets to see her do this soon.
and to add to the magic, I am pretty sure I saw that adorable Michael Arden in the audience!!!
That he would go all the way to Toronto to see Jenna's first show as Elphie, to support his BARE co-star is quite touching.
I know Jenna will only get better as she goes on more and I wish her all the best!
another touching moment was when Jenna's Understudy as Nessa, Lori Holmes took her bow, the talented gentleman playing Boq, Logan Lipton, stepped aside and let her bow alone, such Class!

Lori was fine, a little tentative at first, but she has to deal with that damn chair. She was very good in the Second act when she has hardened, and she gets to stand up!
