Then you should be ashamed and disgusted with yourself. The difference it makes it that many people are about to lose their healthcare, lose access to the bathroom of their choice, lose access to HIV medication. This isn't an opinion, it's a FACT of what the president elect and his party has promised to do.
Thank you for failing to respect my opinion and proving my point entirely.

You kids who still are saying things like 'people whose political views one disagrees with' like we are dealing with anything close to average political issues REALLY must be behind on making your nuclear fallout shelter. Get on it, you'll need it.
You're welcome ****face. Have fun having your rights stripped away during the next 4 years and proving my point.
How...how is the swearing in of a politician, one attended by other political figures and one at which he gives a speech, not political? Of course it's political- to perform at one is to do so at the behest and pleasure of the person taking the office. No one is pretending like he isn't going to get sworn in, of course he is. But if you find him abhorrent (which lots of people do, since he lost the popular vote and has the lowest incoming approval ratings of any President-elect for the past 25 years), then it makes more sense to ignore it.
The man thrives off of attention and approval- so let him feel the sting of hatred and avoidance from the people.

I completely understand how frustrating that is, but I think he meant that he is elected anyway, there is no point in telling artists if they can or can not perform somewhere, that has little to do with the fact that he has been chosen. Like he said, it's apolitical.

Ms. Holliday didn't initially agree to perform at a Trump campaign event. She agreed to perform at the inauguration of the President of the United States. You can support the peaceful transition of power of a prominent national/federal office without supporting the person taking that position. I did the very same thing for President Obama—twice. It's kind of a cornerstone of American unity and patriotism.
"No one is pretending like he isn't going to get sworn in, of course he is."
There are plenty of people on here who refuse to accept the legitimacy of the events happening this coming Friday, but I won't name names.
And the President getting sworn in is Donald Trump- it can be both an inauguration and a Trump event. These things are not mutually exclusive- and I would expect the lines to be blurrier with Mr. Reality TV at the helm.
And supporting the legitimacy is not the same thing as pretending it isn't happening. I deeply question the legitimacy of his election, from the fact that millions more people preferred his opponent, to the fact that another country meddled in our affairs to help him win. The fact that I accept that it's happening, however, is why I'll be choosing not to watch and give this hateful, disgusting man the attention he so transparently craves and will be marching on Saturday.
Also, it is truly mind-blowing to see Trump supporters go on about legitimacy when the President-Elect himself baselessly questioned the legitimacy of President Obama for years!
Jennifer will be on AMJOY tomorrow at 10am on MSNBC.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner ladies and gentlemen
Don't ever expect specifics about anything from Broadway Concierge. He doesn't do that. He's been asked pointed, specific, questions by myself and others numerous times and he either chooses to ignore them or feed some bull**** line about "not having to answer to anyone." He's a child whose opinions shouldn't be taken seriously.
adamgreer, are you ever going to stop tracking down my every single post on here? If you'd actually take a second to read, I've responded quite thoroughly to many others on this thread (and others) because they've engaged with the conversation in a similarly cordial manner. You seem to have become quite obsessed with me after I proved you were quite wrong in an earlier thread. Moreover, I do indeed reserve the right not to respond to asinine questions and comments, such as the ones you persistently badger me with on here. Please leave me alone.
When, exactly, did you "prove me wrong"? As long as you continue posting your abject stupidity, I will continue pointing it out.
Wish I had a link for you, but it was on one of the Off-Topic election threads that ultimately got deleted. I distinctly remember highlighting your incorrectness in a particular post to which you responded "K.," unable to respond without acknowledging wrong thing whatever you had written.
Now please leave me alone.
Nah, I'm good.
And for the record you didn't point out any incorrectness. But whatever helps your little Republican self sleep at night, I guess.
Okay. Now leave me alone, please.

BroadwayConcierge,
You have brought this on yourself. You are a self-appointed doorkeeper of Broadway. In reality, you have no sense of the history of Broadway and, more important, of the United States. I will defend your right to express your opinions. I will defend the right of others to express their opinions and their right to point out your ignorance and lack of knowledge. You are as thin-skinned as the man who takes office on Jan. 20th.

That could be said to every Jennifer Holliday basher too. Live and let live. And accept that some things in life do not go your way. Especially the personal choices of other people to do or don't do something. If you can't handle that, stay out if the kitchen. Stay away from Broadway and from this message board. Tie yourself up in a straitjacket at home and whine and judge all day long about the fact that not everyone thinks like you. And that there will always be people who work with people you don't like.
It's also laughable that many people here address issues such as racism, sexism, and xenophobia but never make the effort to understand them beyond a superficial level. Crying out loud "equality" is not going to do away with institutionalized racism, which keeps alive some small towns that heavily rely on private prisons specifically targeting poor black men.

If you're looking at the world objectively - as I truly think I am - and concluding that the left has a bigger problem with hate than the right, then we must be from two different planets.

The only people who should be embarrassed are those who cannot see what an evil person Trump is.

Yup. Sigh..."
The two of you aren't so out of it as to think that Trump isn't a cowardly bully, are you?
I joined this board because I just wanted to talk about Annie Baker. Why are there Trump supporters here ruining everything?
