Anyone know any discount codes for this? The ones I have end April 7.
Thanks!

Nice to see Jeremy back in a musical but ngl, this kinda feels like a sideways / backwards move for him, when to me he’s more of a leading man? Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of Dr P and will def go see him in the show if he’s still in it when i next visit nyc but all he really has are 3 duets and nothing much else.

Jeremy is more well known for being an incredible singer.
I think along with the play he just did, combined with this being more of an "acting " role, this is a smart decision to get him more "well rounded". Its hard for musical theatre people to be known as actors. Jeremy and his representation are doing well by breaking him out of that mold. This is a good move.

Aren't you getting Jeremy for free or two for the price of one now? It's a discount!"
Now it’s a discount - I already got tickets for this week, before they announced. I truly didn’t think it would Jeremy Jordan for some reason! I’m always happy for another visit to the diner, though. ![]()

Such a limited run, I think he's coming in just to keep the lights on for five more weeks.

My thoughts exactly. But then I heard it was only a five week stint, so that's the kind of run a semi-big star, playing around for a couple weeks, might agree to.

AR just released May tickets for Waitress. Surprisingly, it includes weekends - specifically, May 12 which is the last day that Jeremy and Soshana will be there. Only 2 more tickets available for that date.

Interesting they are including Sundays. The schedule differs from week to week for Sundays.

Love him, but anyone else having a hard time imagining him in this role? I think it's a combination of having see him in SMASH, and really liking Erich Bergen as Dr. P. (But please, tell me why I'm wrong if you think this role is a good fit for JJ!)

Posted: 4/5/19 at 12:58pmI can easily see him in this role. When I saw the show the first time, Jason Mraz was in the show as Dr. Pomatter and I was quite doubtful going in, but I was seriously impressed with his performance. I also very much enjoyed the actor who performed the role when I saw it on tour two weeks ago. I think it’s a role that requires someone who foremost can sing the songs and has some comedic timing. Jordan can easily sing the role and he certainly has at least as much comedic timing as Mraz. And lastly, it’s called acting. If Glenda Jackson can play King Lear and Ethan Slater can play a sponge, I think Jordan will be just fine.

Right, he can certainly sing. But the role also requires some semblance of chemistry between the two leads - we're to believe that she's drawn to him, and he's drawn to her. Jeremy Jordan is fantastic, and I'm a big fan, but I've yet to see him sell a romantic attraction to another character for longer than a couple minutes.
(And OH, "it's called acting?" Why didn't I think of that? Sigh. Thought this was the place to discuss how some people are better at playing certain roles than others; and that some casting decisions are brilliant while others, perhaps a bit shortsighted. My mistake.)

Would have been fun if he did this show when Katharine McPhee was in it, just think a SMASH reunion every day -lol.

I’m just saying it’s not the most challenging role and I think he’s perfect for it. But if you’ve seen him struggle to have onstage chemistry, I can see your concern. Probably an easy decision for you to skip this one then. I have only seen him on stage once (American Son) where he didn’t have a need for onstage romantic chemistry. I did see Newsies on Netflix and thought his chemistry was fine there.

True! (Not the most challenging role...) Ultimately, I do hope you're right - that it's a great fit for him and helps him further his career. I'm just struggling to see it.

He's a gorgeous and vulnerable leading man on Broadway, what more do you need? It does not matter a whole lot though, this is a quick five week run to keep the doors open for the show, it's not a big deal.
Since he is done with television for now, I think he will star in a new musical (he loves those) later this year or next year.

Judging by this video, I don’t think chemistry between the two will be an issue.

I'm interested to see how many kids go to see the show, knowing Jeremy from Newsies/Supergirl/Tangled the Series, and then get to "Bad Idea (Reprise)" - those'll be some interesting internet conversations...

He and Shoshana extended their run till June 2nd!
Interestingly, this means Jeremy had no conflicts for the upcoming month. Congrats to him and his wife to having their first child (on April 21st), but odd timing to do a limited run of a show on his part. I wonder if that is part of the reason why he is extending since he is missing a majority of next week.
Obviously family first, but sucks to anyone who flew in to see him and can't.

Things happen. The baby could be early.

1. It’s not like he’s the one who had the baby. He said he’ll be back.
2. Maybe some people shouldn’t see live theater where anything could happen, and you might travel from somewhere far away, and the actor you want to see isn’t in it that night. If you can’t accept that and be understanding maybe theater isn’t for you.

Magictodo, you are re awfully defensive and arguing against people having the right to be disappointed that he is missing a couple performances. No one is mad at him, no one is sending him hate, people are just airing their disappointment in the timing of it all.
Just because they say they are disappointed doesn’t mean it’s a big deal. They’re just stating how they feel. Everything will be fine.

I get its live theatre and anything can happen, but they are specifically currently promoting the show for people to see him and Shosana for their very limited run.
I didn't have tickets to see him, so I'm not personally upset.
But, I really feel for the people who flew in, bought a hotel, and bought a ticket specifically to see him in his (initial) 5-week run. Obviously, no one is pissed he had a child, but the timing's not the best -- and I know he can't schedule his child's birth, life happens.
I mean compare it to going to an artist's concert. Take for instance... Taylor Swift (or any famous singer of your choice). They promote Taylor Swift's concert that Taylor Swift is obviously going to be performing. People buy tickets, hotel rooms, rent cars for travel... etc. Then, she cancels a tour date -- she's sick.
Obviously, she didn't plan to get sick, but people still wasted a ton of money to see her. Sure, they will get the ticket money back, but not their hotel and airfare/car/gas.
Sure, they don't hate Taylor, but they are disappointed this happened. She is only in their town for a small amount of time. This may be their only chance to see her and they were promised to see her.
Jeremy Jordan is no Taylor Swift, but people thought they'd see him in a performance because it was promoted that he would be there and it sucks when that falls through even if there is a legitimate reason. No one expects Taylor to perform sick and no one is expecting Jeremy to perform when his wife just gave birth.
I'm just saying people have the right to be disappointed and I feel for them.
-- but hey, maybe we should never buy Taylor Swift tickets just in case she gets sick.

I still have to see this!
I love Jeremy, it really is a role he's fit well in and I've heard such good things about him in this show!
