Jordan is incredibly popular, people LOVED him when he was in Hamilton and on Rent:Live. He has a much better voice and is way hotter than Jonathan. If true, I made a very wise choice!
Jonathan Groff and Jordan Fischer are both way, way too handsome to be playing Seymour. The entire plot revolves around him being an unattractive loser. Were they the only demi-celebrities able and willing to do this production?
Attractive people can be low self confidence losers, too.

So many people harping that Groff is miscast because he's too attractive. I think that's bs. I see tons of students/people that are nebbish, withdrawn and socially awkward that are entirely attractive...or could be if they took the time to groom better.
Heck...how many movies make a beauty out of a nerd by this very premise -just by removing her glasses?

Neither is Rick Moranis. Honestly I always just saw Seymour as slubby. He doesn't have to be ugly, but it's probably one of the few roles where it doesn't hurt to be not conventionally attractive.
I'm sure Mr Groff can look nerdy with glasses and a cardigan but whatever his appearance he is so darn gorgeous that I could just keep kissing him till his lips fall off.
ADDED--Ben Platt-the perfect nerd. No pay just a percentage of the gate for the 2 weeks

Names I’ve heard thrown around - Jordan Fisher, Jellani Aladdin, Corbin Bleu, Darren Criss, and Chris Fitzgerald. I’d also heard Ben Platt but I don’t think that’s realistic unless they play him quite a bit.
Another name that would be a good alt would be Gerard Canonico. BMC had a little post-show hangout that did a BMC/Little Shop medley that showed him as a great Seymour (4:33 and 7:48 show him off the best).
The medley starts off officially at 3:47, but I would say skip it if you are not a fan of this show. I adore BMC but they kind of just shove the BMC score into Little Shop. It doesn't work as well as they thought it would, but still Canonico would be a fantastic Seymour.
(PS Unrelated, but Lauren Marcus would kill it at Audrey, I would link some more videos, but that's not what this thread is for, so I'll just leave it at that haha).
While I don't think he'd be cast, I DO think he'd be fabulous.

We don't even know who Audrey II is yet, I really hope all of cast gets announced soon."
Also true. I am definitely looking forward to finding out the rest of the cast first. Just got a little too excited haha. Very much looking forward to this production thus far.

Is there any advantage for not releasing the whole cast yet, even as there are rehearsals happening? Like I would think the opposite would be better, as it gives people more time to get tickets. Not like this production of Little Shop needs it, but I can't think of any reason to keep this (nor The Inheritance) under wraps at this point.
