If it was more than an understudy, I would think they would announce it with the whole cast. That, unless they want more hype for the alt by announcing them later in the run? That just seems very unlikely to me. Glad to hear about Dawn, he seems like a well fit for the role and honestly very excited to see him and the rest of the cast.
They would have announced him as his alternate in November in the article. That didn't happen. So, I doubt it's him. An understudy is not an alternate.
Chris Dwan is terrific, and I hope he gets to go on!
It’s weird that a price hasn’t been announced for the front-row deal. Plus, why give people the option to buy up to six tickets? Two would have been enough, enabling more fans to get them rather than scalpers.

They posted a $99-119 price for the front row seats on their IG...
I’m surprised as well with the high per person limit - if everyone grabs their limit, only the first 30 will get a chance - sadly, I think that means it will become scalper-heavy
I was excited for these “rush-like” seats, but not at $99/$119. Front row has been look-up level for the past 2 shows (Chick Flick, Daniel’s Husband), Is expect the same again. But then again it’s as close as you can get :)

I think anyone on here would know the difference between alternate and understudy. Let me, once again, point out that the thread name is misleading and the production has NOT announced that he will even have an alternate. It’s mere speculation on a Broadway message board. Until they say otherwise, expect that if Groff is out you will see Dwan, as he announced he is understudying Groff and Borle. If you don’t see him, you may see the other understudy. Anything else about an Alternate hasn’t been announced in any capacity.
People are referring, not to day to day absences, but to Groff's 2 week absence from the show. Or at least, thats the way the thread started.
It would not be unheard of for another known entity to be hired instead of the understudy going on.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

how early do people think I should arrive for the box office opening would prefer to arrive around 1030, but could do 6 AM if you guys think its going to get a crazy line
I just want Mr Groff to sit on the edge of the stage, feet dangling and give that cute little half smile as he sings--'Sweetlips I love you' ,just before he gets eaten by the plant, and I wake up.

I read an article about Mindhunter on Netflix with Mr. Groff and he said that the director asked him never to smile which really worked for his character. I loved season 2 BTW.
Everyone was getting mad about how attractive Groff is, but Gideon is honestly on my top 3 Broadway hotties list (after Bryce Pinkham, and John Riddle).
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.
Brilliant choice - he, too, will be just wonderful! I know I can't be in the city while he's on. I'm almost glad we didn't know this before - I think I'd struggle with whom I'd prefer to see!

I am right there with you on all three!!!
Glick will be awesome. I'm excited for the whole thing.

I think it depends on if Gideon is leaving TKAM after joining Little Shop. I could see that, but how long is the main cast of Mockingbird staying? I know Harris is replacing Daniels in Nov, but has any other cast members been rumored to leaving soon?
I had put off buying a ticket for/ had no strong desire to see this with Groff, but as soon as I saw the announcement that Glick would be stepping in, I bought a ticket to see him. I think he will be great.
