I don't particularly like CoffeeBreak, but Kenrex kind of is the show of the Spring if you've seen it. I can't stop talking about it

No. I don't. Enjoyed it in London. (and of course it's you commenting on my opinion. no surprises there Ensemble95).
It's a great show - and quite an impressive feat. The VANYA of the season has arrived.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this takes the Helen Hayes in the fall.

Wasn’t the rumor that this will be going back to London next?

Agreed on not liking CoffeeBreak one bit. They hate on so many shows it seems suspicious when they prop something up. I’ve heard good things on Kenrex. Will def check it out.

I like most shows. There are a few that I find overhyped so opinion is expressed - it triggers people who disagree. People ignore the positive - but, I understand, that's part of the world today.
Kenrex may not be perfect, but it's quite impressive.

I saw this on Friday and was very impressed. It's a tour de force performance and a sonic achievement. I do think some of the beats go on a bit too long, and there are a few elements where you can tell that it's a show about America written by Brits (just a slight anthropological view, particularly with some of the characterizations of the townspeople). But it's very successful overall.

I'm honestly kind of shocked this is not a Critic's Pick. Wonder if this lukewarm review hurts transfer chances (if there even were chances to begin with)

Easily the best acting I've seen during this trip, Jack Holden was that great, that mic scene when there are like 5 of them together is just a feat ot its own when it comes to acting.
It's physical but never shallow, it's somehow haunting even when it is not.
It stuck with me because it's a very sad story, and they way it's done gets you too much.
The lightning, the music... everything is A+, don't miss.
Also, I'm translating his other play to Brazil and I just love his writing.

The NYT Critic's Picks seem suspiciously tied to sponsorship nowadays.

Just want to take a beat to thank posters on this thread for alerting me to this show, which otherwise might have flown under my radar but turned out to be the high point of an 18-show trip. Absolutely extraordinary performance and production. (Now if only they could fix the horrific sightlines at the Lortel.)

thanks for reporting back

sightline at the Lortel is so laughably horrible - especially for a shorter person like me LOL

Saw this today via TDF. My friend and I both loved it. Jack Holden is doing some impressive acting. His performance is incredible. I hope we see more of him on the NY stage.

I went again last night. Just as good as the first time around.
I actually said to Jack that I think he would make a great Hester in Mincemeat, and he was VERY clear he would love to do it here on Broadway if given the chance.

Loved it. I bet it transfers to Bway,

Not a chance, sadly. It’s been a hard sell downtown and I can’t imagine a commercial producer taking up the mantle. The staging is meant to uncomfortably intimate and the “true crime” genre hasn’t historically had much success (Ohio State Murders, Dead Outlaw).
While having the two Olivier Awards and a stack of NYC critics awards is a great pedigree, this might be one of those shows that is better downtown.

Bway was in conversation at one point but the sales have been a disaster, they are essentially doing a fire sale on the remaining inventory on TodayTix
