Marc is very talented but I would cast someone a little leaner to compliment Kelly.physically..
Also someone with a little more charisma. I like the idea of Patrick Wilson or Will Chase. What about Josh Groban if he decides to return to B'way. Roundabout shows are always scheduled for limited engagements, so he doesn't have to commit for a long time. And it will force him to cut off that stupid beard.
Zachary Levi perhaps?
The cast for Roundabout's concert presentation was:
Kate: Kelli O'Hara
Fred: Will Chase
Bill: Rob Fairchild
Lois: Helene Yorke
Gangsters: Richard Kind & John Pankow
Harrison Howell: Norm Lewis
Harry Trevor: Chuck Cooper
Hattie: Amber Iman
Paul: James Lane
And that casting notice says the following is cast:
LILLI VANESSI, FRED GRAHAM, BILL CALHOUN, HARRY TREVOR, PAUL, HARRISON HOWELL
I wonder if they're using the same supporting cast from the concert production? I would be surprised if Norm Lewis continued in that small role.
For SHE LOVES ME (which also started with a Roundabout concert), Jane Krakowski, Gavin Creel, Michael McGrath, and Peter Bartlett were all in the concert (+ Josh Radnor was announced as Georg for Broadway but had to drop out).
Any casting updates? I'm so interested to hear who will be joining Ms. O'Hara!

I know this early but when do you think tickets will go on sale? Is it usually about 6 weeks before previews?

Tickets for Kiss Me, Kate will go on sale to the general public on June 25, but Roundabout Subscribers and donors get first access to tickets and other special benefits.
Opening spring'19
I kind of wish O'Hara would do something new. But I will def be buying tickets.
Yeah, I wish she was doing something new too, but this will be fun. Is it a limited engagement?
Yes, through June 30 only.

I was hoping she would continue with the Tom Kitt Superhero musical, but Kate Baldwin was announced instead.

Does anyone when "Kiss Me Kate" starts performances? The Roundabout website just states "Spring 2019" and I'm hoping to plan a visit to NYC that coincides with dates for "To Kill a Mockingbird." Thanks!
All dates listed below!
First Rehearsal: January 1, 2019
First Performance: February 14, 2019
Opening: March 14, 2019
Max Run: June 30, 2019

Anyone know when tickets go on sale?
I've been hearing rumors of the Sondheim lately. My guess is that Roundabout is taking its time to announce the venue because they must be waiting on Beautiful to announce closing. We'll find out soon enough though!
Almost everything at Roundabout is a limited engagement...until it’s a hit.
So much for this going in the Sondheim.
BTW, James T. Lane is reprising his role as Paul from the concert (he's also going to be in King Kong this fall? A little weird that King Kong would sign someone just to open their show in the ensemble then leave). Source is Charlotte D'amboise's Instagram.
Which one is the official artwork? I like the pink and blue art.

The pink and blue was the artwork for the concert, but it seems like the red one is the artwork for the Broadway production.
If that's the case, I think they should go back. The pink and blue one had torn sheet music for Taming of the Shrew flying around the words, it was very cool. Not sure where the red one has come from though.
I'm sad that I missed the concert. Anyone here see it? How was Kelli's performance?
I can see them going with the red one for Broadway. It's a little flashier, but the marquee letter thing has also been done time and time again. It actually looks a lot like the West End Guys and Dolls revival artwork.
Kelli was pretty good, but not completely there in terms of comedy. I think she can get there, however, with more rehearsal and without a script in her hand. I think Ellis will be able to pull a good performance out of her, he's so good with musical comedy. She was better than I expected, though (and I loved her with Norm and Will! They all clearly were having so much fun together). She was definitely best when she was working off of people, as opposed to her solo comedic moments, like "I Hate Men"
The highlight was definitely Will Chase, however. I hope he's doing it next season because his "Where is the Life I Once Had Led" was spectacular and got the biggest applause of the night (along with "Too Darn Hot".
Honestly, I'm happy to know Helené Yorke will not be Lois Lane. I'm not 1000% sure of that, but they were looking for a Lois at the recent auditions, so I think her TV schedule is probably preventing her from doing it. My favorite song in the show is "Always True to You" and I found hers incredibly dull. We've seen her Lois a million times, I want someone to do something new with it for this revival.
Does anyone think that if Beautiful does announce its closing by the end of the year, Kiss Me Kate might move to the Sondheim?
