Sa-weet. Love this show, love this casting. I wouldn't mind seeing Brian D'Arcy James in this, either.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Oh, I like the idea of both Marc Kudisch and Brian D'arcy James as Fred too.

Helene York would be perfect as Lois Lane. Annaleigh Ashford would be fun as well.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Yorke did the previous Roundabout benefit, so I assume she will be involved if her TV schedule permits.

as this boards resident Cole Porter obsessive, this is truly a festivus miracle!

....love Kelli and she is a spectacular choice to bring yet another classic piece of musical theatre into the 21st century.....

Her leading man top choices for me would include

Christian Borle

Brian D'Arcy James

Norbert Leo Butz

Not a fan of Kelli's acting but she has the voice for this part. Lots of talent being suggested for Fred but haven't seen a name that makes me anxious to see this. Yet.

No shade towards any of the names mentioned so far, but I hope Roundabout decides to go a little bit more diverse in the casting. Yes, the argument could be made this theatre company in this year wouldn't be diverse, but if the company is smart it'll diversify.

I know Roundabout is trying to make money off of this but I would have much rather seen this in the spring with a weaker cast. 18-19 is already shaping up to be a ridiculously competitive season. It boggles my mind that nothing wants to open this spring and challenge some of these guys for awards.
