Because wasting energy on something that petty is literally something a middle schooler would do."
Its a nice song and I hope she has success with it. I personally think the way the Broadway community has treated her has been awful. That’s all I’m gonna say.
These songs are actually quite nice. I hope she finds fulfillment in what she chooses to do with her career from now on. The explosion of hatred on her was out of line and inexcusable.
The lawsuit of hers that was reported not long ago honestly gave me a better understanding of the situation and it really does seem as though she handled things appropriately. Do I wish she was vaccinated? Of course. But at the end of the day there are plenty of people in my life who aren't and I haven't tried to tear them down. All in all, a rough situation.
Hopefully she's finding closure and is happy where she is.

I agree. The only show I saw her in was "Bandstand" and I thought she was terrific.

Fully agree with this. My views on Laura Osnes are a little back and forth. I'm a liberal Democrat who is absolutely and fully opposed to anti-vax propaganda and ideology, but Osnes' choice not to be vaccinated should have cost her jobs upon disclosure of her status on a case by case basis until she either chose to be vaccinated or vaccination is no longer a contingency to be a part of a show. The blanket cancellation and ridicule is unproductive, especially when it turns out she did disclose her vaccination status and accepted that she would not be able to participate in the show as a result of it. The media in our country is broken and would rather see fireworks than report facts, boring as they may be. I do not support what I know of her views and you'll likely never find me at a Laura Osnes concert, but I do think she is right to sue for defamation if all of the facts BWW reported on are true.

Well no, the NY Post article was, it seems, completely inaccurate an slanderous. She will likely win her defamation lawsuit and rightfully so. Although I strongly disagree with her on the issue if COVID vaccines, based in the evidence that has come to light she handled the matter respectfully and professionally.
I hope she gets the vaccine and gets “unblacklisted.” She has been treated very unfairly IMO.
I don't think she was mistreated but as someone who likes light country, it's a pleasant song. And it suits her voice better than her weak attempts to be Julie Andrews. She never seemed to try very hard as a legit soprano.
She has no chance of winning, the lawsuit is a PR move. In order to win you have to prove the information was false, the publication KNEW it was false or ran it with reckless disregard. for the truth In addition she has to prove that the article caused her to lose jobs. Starting backwards Osnes was already not eligible for most shows including any Broadway show or any film/TV shot in the United States because of her well known stance against vaccines. Her own statements did her in not gossip on Page 6. The entertainment field is filled with performers who lost their jobs both for refusing to get vaccinated and their non factual stands against vaccines so she has no chance at damages.
Libel itself is extremely hard to prove and in this case the most offending part of the item was removed quickly. You need only look at recent Sarah Palin suite against the New York Times to see that is a loser suit.It is almost nuts to sue a gossip column for anything, can you imagine how many items they run that turn out to be untrue?
