Nathan Balser is super cute. I feel in one sense, he would be a good Emmett, but it seems like in the musical they've distinguished Emmett so much from Warner (which is good) and it seems like Emmett is more dorkily attractive, so I'm curious to see which way they go if Borle leaves. If they'll try to find someone who isn't as conventionally attractive (whatever that means) or if they don't really care.
You're mentioning people who don't even cover the roles *taking over*? Karl is perfect to replace Emmett but Borle's not going anywhere and even if he where, I doubt they'd give Karl the role. He's too valuable as Kyle/Dewey/Grandmaster chad. If you actually read and don't quickly skim, I've already posted that all the leads are staying. One more time:
"I believe all of the original leads are staying through the summer, including Bundy and Orfeh".
You might want to be around just a touch longer and have made more than 3 posts before starting a fight with me or anyone of the regulars for that matter bestshoes. Some of us mighty ones have known for a while that Borle's out of Catch me and that all the Blonde leads are staying. You asked, I answered, no need to jump down my throat.
I saw the show tonight and there were a few completely fabulous understudies on. Andy Karl was again on for Emmett, and as always, he was completely brilliant. His character arc is so strong, and I think his acting is absolutely phenomenal. He always has me near tears by the end of "Legally Blonde". Becky Gulsvig was on for Serena, and I thought she was also great. Cute, spunky, sassy, and fun. Definitely not a disappointment there, but she's good at everything she does, I think.
Also, as a side note, Orfeh was FIERCE, I mean, she can SANG. Damn.
Just in general a fabulous show. Though I do STILL wish that Lindsay Nicole Chambers understudied Margot or Vivienne or something!
People also said LB wouldn't be around for the new year and yet, it's still going. "
I think that it will be around, because like carymetorent2 said the advances are pretty good and its one of those shows that tourists would see. The last matinee I went to, was full of them. All be it, they were a kind of dead audience, they still filled the seats. It's also a big hit with school groups, my first time seeing it, back in previews, I was the only one in the mezz that was a non-school group person.
"Anybody that goes to the theater, I think we’re all misfits, so we ended up on stage or in the audience.” --- Patti LuPone.
Though I do STILL wish that Lindsay Nicole Chambers understudied Margot or Vivienne or something!
Either of those could be fun, but, after hearing about it apparently happening not once but *twice* now, my new wish is still to be there the night they have Lindsay Nicole Chambers go on in one of the male tracks, because that's just all kinds of awesome.
Hey Everyone, I just have a quick question...Im going to see Legally Blonde on Sunday and I was just wondering if anyone of the understudies are scheduled to go on...I have seen the show twice with all of the OBC in there roles so I was kind of hoping to see an understudy!...Thanks for any info you can give! :)
hey everyone! i'm taking a friend to see LB tomorrow night for his birthday, and i was wondering if anyone knew whether any of the leads have been out sick or on vacation recently, and will be gone tomorrow night? thanks!
I didn't want to start a whole other thread for this question, so don't shoot me just because it's not about understudies.
I'm going to be in town in a few weeks and will be going to see LB at some point. I can get orchestra seats at a discount from broadwaybox, but it's only the last couple rows. Is it going to be worth it to sit in the back or should I just sit in the balcony again?
she will likely will fill in for serena for 4 shows and cara another 4 shows this week. becky will be filling in for LBB as her first vacation as woods, elle. i plan on seeing this show again in feb with SA. good luck to becky/beth as serena this week.
