I saw the show tonight for the first time, and even though it was probably the worst show I've ever seen (I say it with love! ), I had a lot of fun, and got a lot of good laughs.
There were just *so* many "WTF?!" moments...
The cast did a really good job, though.
So, yay!
ETA: I love Kevin Cahoon! Sad to see AMy wasn't there, but her understudy was great.

haha,I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! may I ask what you thought made it not a good show? :) totally not meaning that in a harsh way, I'm just curious. I do def agree there are some "WTF!?" moments, but I think they only help add to the amusment you get in watching the show haha. I just think its really really clever and everything, and yeah, kick ass cast. completely
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
Just to let you guys know, the souvenir programs are on their way. We will have them at the theatre in less than three weeks, most likely in two. Also, as of this week, Matthew Saldivar's cd will be available. Enjoy!
As another note, to correct, Richard Blake and Stephen Lynch are not on vacation at the same time. Richard Blake is taking off two days of the time that Stephen Lynch is out, but will be around for the rest. I believe one date was the 9th, but the other, I do not recall.
Also, tonight, Stephen announced that "It's Your Wedding Day" was the new theme for the Today show wedding contest - i had no idea, but that is great for them and such good publicity!! All the couples from the show were there tonight and got called up on stage.

That was announced weeks ago, but that's awesome the couples got to go onstage.

yea, and on queer eye last night the guy that they made over got to take his family to see the wedding singer! i was soo happy to see that. its things like that that help. and "its your wedding day" has been the official song for a while now. they said it the thursday before the tonys when TWS cast performed on the today show. but i do think that its a great song for that and it gves TWS some great publicity!
I have a lyrics question (should probably have looked in the book, but it's at home and i'm at work right now)
During RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES, Amy sings "You might have a ________ or two, plus a ________. But are the lifestyles of the rich and famous nearly all they seem?"
It sounds like "plus a caviar dream," but that doesn't make sense so I'm probably wrong.
caviar dream is right and the first part is champagne wish.
Now what would you say if today I started over?
Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover
And I'll pretend like everything is already alright
And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight
its caviar dream because she always believed that money meant everything to her and she wanted to marry someone with money but shes realizing that she really likes sammy and the "one thing [she] wants is right in front of [her] eyes". same thing with the champagne wish.
"Champaign wishes and caviar dreams" is how Robin Leach, the host of 80's reality show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" used to sign off at the end of each episode.
^OOOH dude, I never knew that! so its an 80s reference, thats cool :P I alwasy just figured she was just speaking figuratively

^stephen IS off soon, its like sep 2-sep 9 or something right guys? I'm too lazy to go back a few pages and look ahhaa, but yeah, early september. And I think Kevin Kern will be going on for him :)

cause, um, I was not and it is quite possibly the greatest thing EVER. EVER I say omg, I cannot wait till they get all the other ones up!!
oh and, amy and stephen are adorable, and felicia has the most hysterical laugh ever. yeah :P And laura's hilarious "he's not the brightest light on the christmas tree"

"If I was gunna do student rush next tuesday what time should i be there? the show starts at 7."
My four friends and I got to the show last night about 8 minutes before it started and were able to get 5 seats together.

I just...thought the book was baaaaad. It was also a little too corny for me. Too corny as in not at all funny except for the fact that what they are doing makes no sense at all. At least for me. The only song I remember is the opening song, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, though. The Act 2 opener was about 3 minutes too long.
"George's Prayer" was absolutely hysterical, though. I was dying.

So, was the girl with golden hair on for today's matinee?
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
