Talking as though the feedback he’s getting for this show isn’t the same criticism he’s received for the majority of his career back to the days of his exploitative YouTube videos. He should have been relegated to reject vine creators then and there, yet here we are.

As far as the extension goes, shows “extend” all the time to get a free press hit. The timing of the extension smacks of trying to shift the focus to “how well it’s selling” which we all know is a farce. The house is heavily comped, even on papering sights. So miss us with the “oh it’s selling extremely well they’re selling $499 tickets!” BS because no, it is not and no they are not. People are not paying $500 for this when they aren’t even spending that on broadway shows. Get a grip. Live in reality.

Starting to wholeheartedly believe members of the production team/cast/todrick himself are in this thread. Bc some of you are DELUSIONAL.

I guess you work in the box office and are the general manager too, Not. As I said: feel free to dislike him. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a trending, talk of the town show on his hand. Not affiliated with the show, here. But nice try.

It’s “the talk of the town” for all the wrong reasons. But I guess all press is good press. Especially for characters like todrick.

So was Slave Play. Was nominated for 12 Tonys (won zero). I’m not saying I even agree with the show or what I’ve heard about it. But hype doesn’t lie and if tickets were that accessible people wouldn’t be begging for them online. Maybe separate your personal feelings about him from the reality of what his art is doing. Two things can be true.

Sydney Seeeney is a neo-Nazi dating Scooter Braun - one of the most disgusting people in the entertainment industry - who also just happpena to be producing this. All his legitimate clients dropped him. It's like the pits of Hell have opened up a portal at the Daryl Roth Theatre and all of its demonic hordes are being released there.

You don't need a Ouija Board to see that this thread has been infected by at least one shill for the show.

I think they might be "begging for tickets" because $631 for an off-Broadway show is obscene.

I don’t disagree! I just challenge the all knowing on this board who say it’s all comps and they didn’t earn the extension (built in or not).

Midnight cannot be demanding $500 for tickets and having people "begging" for a ticket because there are none of be had while simultaneously barely moving any tickets for this extension. These are mutually exclusive situations. People are "begging" because they know if they're loud enough Todrick will just give them a ticket. The opposite of a success.

Have you gone through every show post extension? Are you speaking from facts or hope? Are you CoffeeBreak because it’s giving obsession.

I think its a pretty easy sampling. Not the first week of extension. Not Christmas/New Year's which is the busiest time of the year. Not weekends (the busiest days of the week). Not a great showing for a show that is currently "sold out".

Ticket sales would say otherwise. Most new Bway shows aren’t going for $499 a pop. Midnight has been. But you all know all. So I’ll shut up. I guess facts don’t matter anymore.
"

A "fact" here is that it makes absolutely no sense for a show of this scale to run for only 6 weeks (as was initially announced) and then organically extend for a further 8 weeks. That is not how demand-based extensions operate. This was just two pre-planned ticketing blocks. That's all.

This is hardly the first production to use "extensions" to create demand; Oh Mary, Mincemeat, and Masquerade have all been doing it. It's just a... kind of a sloppier version of it.

Agreed. But if it wasn't selling at all it couldn't extend. They wouldn't have any money.

Again, if they're blocking off half the seats of every performance, that is not selling out.

It's not that it's not selling at all- it was basically guaranteed to sell and complete its run. It's just not the crazy in-demand hit it is being presented as and the wide availability of tickets in the "extension" (actually just the latter half of their intended and budgeted run) demonstrates that.
