Plus, with Lincoln Center Theatre producing, they wouldn't be as concerned with turning a profit as commercial producers would.

A production of My Fair Lady led by Colin Firth would do just fine.

What I was referring to as a dated piece is my fair lady.
Anyway I have doubts this piece will resonate with American audiences in 2017

^Lol. It's just a great musical and I want to see it. It doesn't have to necessarily "resonate" with audiences.

My Fair Lady remains a widely produced musical across America. It's an established classic in the way that South Pacific or Gypsy are.

As long as verbal and behavioral class distinctions survive in the English speaking world, My Fair Lady should have no trouble resonating.

Nefertiti said: "Considering how both King and I and Fiddler on the Roof had to end their runs early, this will not do well on Broadway. The last time I saw My Fair Lady I ended feeling bored before Act 1 finished. The piece is dated."
What a silly thing to say. Comparing the recent productions of *The King & I* and *Fiddler* is misguided since the former was not a commercial run that ran for much longer than originally planned. And neither of those productions starred one of the most iconic movie stars of his generation in a role that might as well have been written for him.

Any scoop whatsoever on this potentially happening in the near future? Maybe next season? Just curious.

It's officially happening next year!

Though I wonder if Bart will find a role for Danny Burstein in this.

I don't think that production is going to be produced by Lincoln Center.

I kinda like Kara Lindsay for this. She has great comedic timing and she'll be probably be done with Wicked by then.

I don't think Kara has the range, no pun intended. She did not have those top notes when I saw her in Wicked.

I hope they find a young ingenue instead of casting a name for Eliza. Julie Andrews only had one other success before she played the role and look how that turned out.

Possibly... Carmen Cusack or Jessie Mueller as Eliza?

Same. It doesn't have to be someone completely unknown but I'd prefer if they would cast younger and/or actually British.

Carmen Cusack is a little old.
