ehh...well, at least its better than his previous idea to join The Producers as Leo Bloom

I wonder why Slater's taking a part that requires absolutely no work whatsoever.
Plus, isn't he a little young to be playing Charlotte d'Amboise's former lover?

Are you effing kidding me? While I am not a fan of the revival I cannot believe that they are stunt casting!!! It kinda makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.
Eww.
I immdiately thought he would be playing Paul......However, if this keeps the show going, then I'm all for it because I LOVE this show!
MARIO LOPEZ?!
Eh. Ok.
It kinda makes sense that they would stunt cast Zach, seeing as he dances the least out of anybody in the show. But still... yeah. That's kinda weird. Seems kinda ironic that A CHORUS LINE would stunt cast.
Yay for Mario!
April Fools is coming a little early this year?

I mean, if you're going to stunt cast this show, the only real way you could pull it off is to put a non-dancer (which, face it, compared to anyone in this cast, he most certainly is one) into a role that requires merely passable dancing skill and a lot of offstage time.
I just give this a big, "Eh." Mario Lopez? Eh. Playing Zach? Eh. Ehhh.

Ehh....I just feel sorry for all the people who come just to see him in the show, expecting him to be the star or something. I haven't seen it since the revival opened, but isn't Zach offstage for most of the show?
I have tickets for April 13, last show before he joins ! So, is that a good thing or a bad thing ?
Supes good, if you ask me.
What a pathetic joke.

Has the show actually come to a point where they need to use stunt casting?

I thought you had to be a celebrity before you qualified as someone who was "stunt cast."
HA!!
I'll be going on the 17th of May. Part of me wants to cringe, while crawling into a ball. Part of me hopes he will do a *good* job. And part of me is excited at the though of seeing A.C. Slater in person (it had to be said, lol)

tellybox, you won't be seeing him anyway because at the end of article it says he'll be on hiatus from 5/11-6/3.

Why is casting a professional actor in a Broadway show "Stunt casting"?
If he was to stand naked on stage and doing nothing, then maybe.
Nah, he's not even that hot.

Why is casting a professional actor in a Broadway show "Stunt casting"?
Casting a professional actor in a Broadway show is not stunt casting.
Casting a professional actor with little to no dance or voice training on Broadway is stunt casting.
I watched the season of Dancing With the Stars he participated in and thought he was quite good. But ballroom dance is not analogous to Michael Bennett's choreography. Especially eight times a week.
What I'm wondering is if they're going to start promoting the show as "A CHORUS LINE starring Mario Lopez". The Bennett estate would probably flip.
