Rest of the cast announced:
"Ryan Behan, Grace Capeless, Mateus Leite Cardoso, Ben Crawford, Dominic Dorset, Carissa Gaughran, Ashley Jenkins, Liesie Kelly, Cameron Loyal, Pierre Marais, Mason Olshavsky, Hank Santos, Colin Trudell, DeLaney Westfall and Pierce Wheeler."
The tickets are reasonable for this season and even cheaper than some of the DOA shows, but there will definitely be a discount code next month.
I'm just tired of the $300 orchestra seats and the big chunk of all center and aisle seats that aren't even on sale yet. Most show are doing this now and it's annoying. I'll wait for a good code, or TKTS, and I'm sure I'll get something. Glad to know a code should come out next month, thanks!
Yeah and the entire first row of the front mezzanine (where I usually sit) not being available for the entire run. It's annoying how they hold back the best seats because many people do want to buy them in advance.
Full cast announced today -

Newly announced to be joining them are Ryan Behan, Grace Capeless, Mateus Leite Cardoso, Ben Crawford, Dominic Dorset, Carissa Gaughran, Ashley Jenkins, Liesie Kelly, Cameron Loyal, Pierre Marais, Mason Olshavsky, Hank Santos, Colin Trudell, DeLaney Westfall, and Pierce Wheeler. Casting is by The Telsey Office's Craig Burns and Kristian Charbonier.

Looking forward to this show and genuinely, without any snark, want to know WHY seats, wide swath of seats are being held back? I love an aisle - and seeing that there are barely any aisle seats left for dates I want to attend is a bit of a head scratcher to me.
Aisle seats tend to be held for press and VIPs, but holding back so many for such a wide range is odd.

Just curious what I missed about that idiot harassing performers as I may have direct knowledge about one such person.

Check out his interactions with Kennedy Kanagawa and the Tiananmen project. That was the day I blocked him.
Seat needs add up quickly. Creative team, producers, and potential investors in previews. Press and VIPs for all performances. Tony voters post-opening through early June. House seats at all performances and previews for those with a contractual allocation.
Also, considering MAYBE HAPPY ENDING's aggressive sightline issues, I don't blame them for holding a bunch of center aisle seats for the people who need to be able to have the best view of the show until they have a better sense of how it's playing.
Now, will they need 25 aisle pair per night + the others they've held just off the aisle? Probably not, but they can release some back. And if you feel the need to buy NOW for this show, have I got a bridge to sell you... ![]()
This show is highly anticipated unlike most of the DOA musicals coming this Spring.
I follow my dynamic buying model now. I wait. It's simple and easy.
The producers above the title on this are bizarre. All first time producers - and all random performers? - And two creative consultants who are film producers telling Arden what to do. They've been pushing the show for 9 months now with ads and expensive merch.
This cast is large. I don't see how this ever recoups with it already over 30m. This may be one the stranger seasons for musicals.

There aren't really any new musicals this season. The season of the play.
What a wild thing to say. The new musicals of the season are Queen of Versailles, The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon, Beaches, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), and Titanique. Just because it's a weak season doesn't mean they don't exist, sorry!

Beaches and Titanique count as “new” musicals? Interesting.

I mean, in the sense they would be eligible for Best Musical, yes they are.

Paul wontorek made a video of him talking about not that many musicals coming in and how it means there’s going to be a lot of empty theaters. He looks at a theater with a play in it and sees emptiness.

Very strange. Not only does he forget about Titanique and Beaches, but he doesn't seem to realize that the lack of new musicals seems to be driven by the fact that so many theaters are full, not empty.
I mean by Tony eligibility there are new musicals but The Lost Boys is technically the only “new” musical in the sense that it’s the unknown one without previous productions and transfers. If only Dead Outlaw held off a season… and if only Paddington, Mexodus and Bat Boy had opened this season (with Bat Boy somehow eligible in New Musical as correct me if I’m wrong the published perform version is mostly the original off broadway incarnation, correct?).

Paul made his post on empty theaters prior to Titanique and Beaches’ announcements.

So The Band's Visit wasn't an actual new musical? Or Spring Awakening? Or Company? Or Hairspray? We have to allow for a development period. (The three shows that you go on to mention - Dead Outlaw, Paddington, and Bat Boy would also not be new musicals by your measure.)

"really any" = "not a lot" It's not a "wild" thing to say. It's not that they don't exist (it's obvious they do) - there aren't really any/not a lot compared to recent years. It's a "play season".
This year there are 6 new musicals. (the majority of eligible shows, in category, will be nominated for a Tony).
Last year there were - 16. The year before - 15. That's more than double the amount of this years' offerings.
"really any" = "a lot"
I'm glad you were able to correct yourself after the fact. You were wrong and we corrected you, but congratulations on knowing so much math. Stay warm!
