Hey! I'm trying to make a video of all thr countries of the world (or most) but I use a clip of when it's mentioned in a musical/play. It doesn't have to be where the production is set and it doesn't have to be in a song- it can be dialogue too. I have a few countries already but would love some help. Thanks!
Some of my examples so far:
Ireland and Sweden- mentioned in Ireland from Legally Blonde
In addition to Cuba and the Dominican Republic, In the Heights also mentions: The Bahamas ("96,000" ), (The United States of) America("Pacienca y Fe" ),Puerto Rico("When You're Home" ), and Chile("Carnaval del Barrio" ). Am I missing any others?
"Seven Wonders" from Catch Me If You Can talks about a lot of famous monuments and places - Taj Mahal, pyramids, Paris, the "Italian toilet bowl," but not sure if you want that to count!
Also, Bombay Dreams mentions India in the context of an "Air India flight" in the song "Don't Release Me." Trying to think of more that haven't already been mentioned...
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I'd have to give it another listen, but I'd guess that Women on the Verge mentions Spain. Maybe in "Madrid" (sung by Danny Burstein)? It's been a while since I've revisited that show & score...
in final song of Pacific Overtures; "Next" the line from the Reciter "Welcome to Japan!"
Judas' sings "Israel in 4 BC had no mass communication" in the title song "Superstar" from "Jesus Christ Superstar"
In PASSION; everyone except Fosca gushes over Count Ludovic of Austria. During Fosca and the Colonel's account over Fosca's ill fated marriage: her parents echo when they sing the name "Austria"
In COMPANY; Sondheim gives us "Barcelona!" "Please Hello" from "Pacific Overtures": the US, British, Dutch, French and Russian Admirals frenzy their way into trade agreements with Japanese representative, Abe In CHESS; Murray Head sings "One Night in Bangkok"
