Beaches stumbled so Mystic Pizza could face-plant.

For what it’s worth, at least Mystic Pizza has a good 80s jukebox score and decent performances. It was easy, cheesy fun as opposed to BEACHES, where I wanted to gouge my eyes out from boredom.

Mystic Pizza was equally as terrible as Beaches. It has no business being on Broadway, but if they want to waste their money go ahead.

I believe it's going out on tour. Probably non-equity. So these small subscription houses will likely be forced into seeing it.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Mystic Pizza was no masterpiece, but it was a hell of a lot more entertaining than Beaches. And at least the music was good!

The tour is the opener of the Clemens Center (Elmira NY) Broadway 2026-27 Series. The performances are in late September.

I saw it at paper mill, definitely not a great musical, but I had a decent time. It’s not a train wreck at all. Cheesy, formulaic, sweetness

Isnt the show already announced to be touring and the original cast album was released already too so really curious what the announcement is.
