"I feel bad for Safran for being terrible at his job.
Oh wait, I don't."
Nor do I. It's not like he made a couple mistakes. There were so many times when it felt as though no one had bothered to read these scripts before filming the scenes because they were just so preposterously terrible on every account. I feel bad for US for being emotionally invested in this show (which, yeah, I do both love and hate oh so very much)

I must say that SMASH has made me hate Leslie Odom Jr as an actor and I can't say I would want to see him in anything else. He wasn't doing it for me in LOF either.

Safran gave us the character of Jimmy and turned Smash into Gossip Girl. No pity.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Is Smash not on this Saturday? Is the next episode next Sunday, the 26th? Series Finale???

Reading this made me so mad! I know that the show has many flaws but the Bombshell numbers are IMO all spectacular, and I think it certainly would work as a Broadway musical.

@Miss Piggy2, yes. No episode tonight; just a two hour finale next Sunday, from 9-11pm.

Not a fan of Isherwood, but agreed with every word he wrote here.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

He summarized it pretty perfectly, although I wish it had more Jimmy-bashing. Because Jimmy sucks.
Also, from a comment: Ivy would head for the nearest clinic to make an appointment as soon as she'd hung up the phone.
YES, I refuse to believe that Ivy would not even consider an abortion. But I guess Smash considers that too "edgy."

As much as I loathed Jeremy Jordan as Jimmy, my opinion of him as a performer changed after seeing him last night at The Kennedy Center. He appeared with Norm Lewis, Julia Murney and Jennifer Laura Thompson in the music of Stephen Schwartz concert with the National Symphony Orchestra. This was the first time I had ever seen him in person, and I've got to say, he definitely has a lot of charisma, and found there was an ease about him last night that was completely opposite of how he was on Smash.

I'm sure he's fine. That role was a poisoned chalice for any actor.

I love Jeremy Jordan and don't blame him at all for Jimmy. He did the best he could with the character.

Hopefully SMASH will end with Jordan & McFee the same way BONNIE & CLYDE ended.

I thought it was in the chalice with the palace?
But anyhow, Jeremy Jordan was wonderful in Newsies. It is not him who is the problem - it is the character of Jimmy.

Smash does it again.
The DVR ratings for Week #32 (May 4th) were posted today and Smash ranked #1 in percentage increase once again.
Their Key Demo rating went from a .5 rating to a 1.1 rating. That's a 120% increase.

They should've never have moved it to Saturday. The show they replaced Smash with lasted all of 2 weeks...I wonder what genius made that decision.

The Smash series finale is just a few days away so I thought I'd give the thread a bump. It felt weird this past weekend not having an episode to watch. Here's hoping it goes out with a bang.
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco.
Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!
