Then Ana --or AAAAHhhhna or as Jeremy says ONA goes up to Ivy at the bar ... come on that was believable....and back to bitch face Ivy whore who is shocked people think and talk about her whoredome Love Meg -hate Ivy..she is a bitch
Really? Just... really? She's slept with, like, two guys during the entire show, and one of them she was in a committed relationship with.

Posted: 5/12/13 at 10:52amWell, this is Smashland we're talking about, SporkGoddess. Cousin Debbie having an affair outside of her marriage is forgivable and makes her sympathetic, but Ivy sleeping with two guys makes her a dirty ho.

Yeah, and Jimmy can completely go off the rails, abuse drugs, ruin a show, almost result in someone's injury, indirectly result in someone's death, and be viewed as inspirational when he decides to finally "turn it all around." Thank you, Josh Safran, the man who also thought that we should all root for Chuck Bass.
Not to mention the whole idea that St. Karen is so virginal and pure and Ivy is such a SLUTBAG. Also, there is NO way I believe that Ivy wouldn't be on some type of birth control (and if she was, they would not give her a pregnancy test at her physical).

Posted: 5/12/13 at 11:42amI just watched last nights SMASH and thought it was phenomenal. The themes of betrayal, loyalty, promiscuity, addiction, loss, dance, joy, excess, glamour, nihilism, corruption and theatre were all so vivid and conveyed a sense of urgency to our society that hasn't been felt in a generation that screamed out for people of all ages to stand up for themselves, for their loved ones, for people they've yet to meet, and beg for a change, for a new beginning to something that they might not even recognize as needing to be repaired but that is still none the less broken as its always been where people who rightly question are concerned and make those people the one true voice, the real voice, the only voice.

Posted: 5/12/13 at 1:07pmSmash is so anti-feminist. God forbid a woman who is 30 years old have the awareness to be on birth control. Ugh.

SporkGoddess, I'm with you! Jimmy can be a horrid jerk, and yet we're meant to empathize with him and be moved when he is "redeemed" by Kyle's death.
On the other hand, the women are total sluts and whores. Ivy needs to be taught a lesson that being a whore can get you a kid and Daisy lets women know that their best weapons are sex and manipulation. It's the only way for a woman to get ahead in this world anyway- plus since women are so inherently evil (Eve and that whole serpent thing), they enjoy doing it too.

Posted: 5/12/13 at 1:44pmThis season has had a really uncomfortable tinge of misogyny that, for all its faults, I didn't find last year. As Whizzer seems to point out, it has been more implied than outright, but it certainly is there. I never watched Gossip Girl, so I don't know if that's an issue with Safran's writing in general, or not (and I believe he wasn't headwriter there...)

"does anyone know if "Hit List" will have anymore songs released via itunes? Or are the songs we have the complete list?"
Hopefully that was all of them so we don't have to sit through any more.

Posted: 5/12/13 at 4:44pmI blame the low ratings this week on NBC's cancelation of the show. Once a show is canceled there's a "What's the point in watching anymore" feeling about it.
SMASH#2841
Posted: 5/12/13 at 4:47pm@kieranbec According to Jeremy Jordan on Twitter, we missed an entire song because the golf ran over, and then they showed a whole bunch of commericals just to say "Show's already cancelled. Why are you still watching?" But the missed song was might have been from 'Hit List'.

The missed song was from Hit List, but you can see it on Hulu if you watch the first 5 minutes of the episode. It was bad... really bad.
Also, who knew Ken Davenport was producing Hit List? Live tweeting and texting?! If it worked for Gdospell, it MUST work for Hit List too.

Posted: 5/12/13 at 11:58pm^^ Rachel Shuckert was right when she said Derek's dream of creating a musical version of A Night At The Roxy is finally coming true with that number.

Posted: 5/13/13 at 12:02amI really thought maybe all the stuff that was confusing me would be answered in the missing minutes, but yeah, not so much. And I did laugh when the NBC lady said, "We now join Smash already in progress." I feel for Smash. The poor dear.

Did no one else notice that Julia had her phone UPSIDE DOWN while she was talking to Tom? It was so distracting and absurd that no one could have noticed that during the filming.
I'm not sorry but that was one of the worst songs I've ever heard. And was it supposed to be at the VMAs or in a club or at some amusement park where men push you around on rolling staircases? The choreography of that was juvenile and abysmal. That actual made me alright with the cancellation because I can't even with that SH*T.
No comment on the Mara Davi thing or Ivy's pregnancy because it's all too stupid. And ew Leslie Odom Jr GO AWAY!
ETA: I just listened to "Pretender" and what a hunk of caca that song is.

>> "Did Eileen fire Anne Harada?"
Eileen can't fire Anne Harada.
Ann Harada exists in the "real" world. Eileen can only fire Linda, the stage manager, as she actually exists in SMASH world.
It is possible that Eileen might have fired Erin Dilly, however. There is a "real" Erin Dilly that exists in SMASH world, as well as an "actual" Erin Dilly that exists in the "real" world. This conundrum creates a crack in the space/time continuum that allows for Erin Dilly to be fired by Eileen. (It's all a wibbly-wobbly, timey-whimey thing... Don't worry if you don't "get it" right away.)
Judging from what I saw on last week's episode, it seems extremely likely (and probably deservedly) that Eileen fired Erin Dilly at least once during Dilly's short and uneventful career before Dilly permanently went "on break".

It's a little easier to follow using pictures... Give me about an hour and I'll post a better explanation.
