Collins is the last name of Jeremy Jordan's character Jimmy Collins. I don't mind the spoilers. It makes me interested on how we get to from what we know to what we are seeing. I'm surprised though they aren't trying to hide some of these details though.

Collins isn't Jeremy Jordan, is it? I watched the first half of the premiere on the NBC website and he's so charismatic that he has chemistry even with McPhee.
I actually had a random thought.. do you think that Karen and Ivy's names were inspired by August: Osage County? It's just such a random combination that it made me wonder.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Collins is Jeremy Jordan. I also finally watched the "Moving the Line" clip. A fantastic song, agree that she looks like a drowned rat. I also don't see that being a Marilyn song, but since I have not seen it in context or where it will fit in the show I cannot criticize the intent of it.
They did however look like they were performing at an investors dinner of some sort.

I think doing Hit List is a very smart move for this show, the musical's score is right up McPhee's alley in terms of vocal abilities.

Agreed. Her chops just couldn't compare to Megan's on the classic musical theater tunes.

Honestly I just said that to bump it up so when the show does start we aren't digging through threads.

I don't have the energy for a 2 hour premiere. If it's good I would need major sedation to get to sleep. DVR is set though.

Well, Wesley Taylor is in this episode. I hope he continues with the show. RC in Austin Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Ann Harada just has the effect of making me smile whenever she appears :)

Is Savannah Wise still on the show? I find it odd that Karen didn't pick her as one of the backup singers.

Yes he will be continuing with "Bombshell". Later in the season he's a big part of a number that Leslie Odom sings, (Let's Start) Tomorrow Night. You can listen to it in the link provided earlier for all the songs of "Bombshell" which I'm now listening to again for a 3rd time.
