You heard it here first! The biggest question is will Jeremy Jordan be in the cast......?

With all the hoopla, it is no surprise Disney had Broadway in the lang-range plan. The mostly positive reviews this week, made the decision a no-brainer. Plus, they still have several weeks to work out the kinks which is essentially an out-of-town tryout without having to go to Boston or New Haven.
I question the choice of venue tho.
Link or it didn't happen.
Disney has always used Nederlander theaters (Palace, Lunt-Fontanne and Richard Rodgers) so it makes sense that they would for Newsies as well. All their larger houses are booked for the time being which leaves the Nederlander as their best option.
With Wildhorn's track reord, Jordan will be available if this happens.
But I also think he is replacable with a younger Jack. If the script points out that he is 17, why is a 30 year old playing him?

this would be insane. A few mixed reviews from NY papers and Disney is ready? I think people realize that this season is so barren with new musicals they are going to through anything in the fire.
Lisse jones and Bonnie and Clyde will be gone before the tony awards come out . Ghost seems to be a joke..so thats a bust
If once and Yank come in those will be the critic darlings so Newsies could be the BIG show thats coming in seeing as Sister act and Priscilla will probably be gone by jan 1st. makes sense.
I assume Jordan will be available, and that's why they're waiting until the spring. I don't imagine Bonnie and Clyde being a huge hit.
And if it is running, he probably has an "out" for Newsies.
It's possible, but I can't see a producer allowing one of their stars to have an out clause to star in another show.
Which show might Mr Jordan prefer to do?
Who might take Mr Jordan's place if he decides to stay with B&C?
Any thoughts a replacement? A relatively unknown? How is Max Ehrich? He is more age appropriate and seemed to have a great stage presence IMHO.

does it really matter who jack kelly is? its friggin Newsies...dear Lord
The Nederlander seems like a perfect fit for Newsies. I hope it's true. And I hope they fix the opening.
Given that almost every review pointed out the opening as one of the show's issues, I can't imagine they'll continue to open with the introspective Santa Fe. I would expect the flashier Carrying the Banner to open the show if this does in fact happen.
Yay! Although who knows if Bonnie and Clyde may just be a hit (I love what I have heard of the score and this could be the Wildhorn show that breaks the curse).
Meh. I'll be skipping it.
I hope Disney makes an effort to fix and tweak this one, before it hits Broadway.
Unlike The Little Mermaid, which they just threw it out without bothering to change anything from the Denver run, thinking it would sell anyway on the name alone, regardless of the quality of the show.
Do we have any confirmation from the OP?
"You heard it here first! The biggest question is will Jeremy Jordan be in the cast......?"
yes, macbeth, we heard it from you - but where did YOU hear it from??
If Newsies is going to come in this season then I think the Bonnie and Clyde producers would be better off to let Jeremy out of his contract and have him stay with Newsies and have Stark Sands play Clyde on Broadway since he was so brilliant in La Jolla. OR they could wait and maybe Disney will buy Jeremy out of his contract. That would be interesting. Assuming, of course, that Bonnie and Clyde even runs.
But what does Jeremy want to do? I think that is the bottom line.

Told us so? What I see is a big question mark that you conveniently left off your link. And clearly in the article referenced there is nothing beyond some unidentified source talking to Disney about it.
People, you realize "Rialto Chatter" is just regurgitating message board posts as "news", right?

Newsies seems an odd one to transfer to Broadway because it's not as well known compared to other Disney shows. Wasn't the original intention for staging it like Aladdin for licensing purposes.
Disney seem to have gone for smaller productions with Peter and the Starcatcher and Newsies, both which have been developed away from Broadway.
Awesome. Possibility of a double nomination for Jeremy?
