I only saw one comment so far about the lack of diversity. It's so interesting when they talk about that and then turn around and praise the casting that actually happens and say things like "it's been a long time coming!" "so deserved" like- which one do you want?"
A small part of me did roll my eyes and seeing two white girls in the leads yet again, but they’re both first time principals and I think that’s great. As long as they continue to leave all roles open to everyone, and actually adhere to that, it should be fine."
So white girls aren't allowed to dream of playing these iconic roles? I agree- leave it open to everyone. Don't attack those who are cast in these roles saying "it should have gone to a BIPOC". We're not limiting it. That just happened to be the casting this time around."
Nobody attacked anyone. Calm down.

Keri is replacing Lencia and is leaving the standby role in a few weeks. Talia will be back to standby (and has scheduled shows the weekend of 2/7) while they rehearse the brand new standby.
Glinda is new to the show."
Christy Altomare?"
Could see Christy playing the part but, i'm honestly hoping for Taylor Louderman or Emma Pittman
"
I know the roles have been announced but Christy is also pregnant so I doubt she would have auditioned for this"
Oh right! Forgot about that. She would be perfect for the part, though I hope she gets to play it someday. Also, feel bad for Allison Bailey; it seems she really wants it. I wonder if they will make her standby once Jennafer leaves.

I didn’t attack them, I’m simply stating this because it took like 25 years to have a black woman as lead Elphaba the states and they should be embarrassed by that. As stated previously, I think Keri and Emma will be fabulous and I’m thrilled. Both opinions can be true.

And Taylor Louderman is retired and living as a stay-at-home mom in Missouri. I wouldn't expect to see her back on Broadway any time soon.

Just an aside...A week ago I was doing a search on Ariana Grande. Gemini AI told me that she is in "Wicked" on Broadway and has been nominated for a 2026 Tony Award (Which alone is impossible at this point in time). It went on to say that she was nominated in the supporting category so she would not be going head to head with Cynthia. I just shook my head! I took a pic of it but can't figure out how to post it.

Talia is only joining until March 8th as a temporary standby. I assume a new standby will be announced later.
Alison Bailey and Olivia Valli are currently leading the tour until February 6th and 8th while Jessie and Zoe are on leave/vacation.
New cast starting March 3, with Fuller and Flynn:
Ellen Harvey is the new Morrible
Blake Hammond is the new Wizard, coming from the tour
Carl Mann is the new Fiyero, coming from London
Oluchi Nwaokorie is the new Elphaba standby
Jenna Bainbridge and Danny Quadrino are remaining

Finally I shall return
Oscar's departure opens him up for SCHMIGADOON!, if he has chosen to continue on as Aloysius.
Thrilled that Jenna is staying on for a second year!
