I’d love to see Kelli O’Hara do The Sound of Music. I know people will say she’s too old, but there’s no reason why Maria can’t be middle aged. Just like Eliza Doolittle can and should be played by all different ages and honestly, I think it was a mistake not to cast Kelli in that LCT revival of My Fair Lady.

Kelli O'Hara would make a fine Mother Abbess.
Nichelle Lewis perhaps could make a fine Maria. Or maybe Maleah Joi Moon.
The character needs a youthful energy. She becomes more of an older sister to Liesl. Not her grandmother.
Anyways, there's no way on heck I'm willingly sitting through another Sound of Music anytime soon, no matter the cast.

Laura is 40 (too old/weird) and Kelli is too youthful looking (50) to play those roles. And Laura is a proud MAGAt who lives in the South who voluntarily shook the small hand of A Sociopathic Child Rapist. Twice. Everyone hates him in NYC and they would absolutely hate her if she ever came back. She also stated as such in her lawsuit that she was done with Broadway. She feels "unsafe" to ever return.
I heard Rachel Zigler wanted to be Maria in a future production of Sound of Music at Lincoln Center. Just a silly rumor, surely, but she would have been great.

The Next to Normal proshot is so good that I have been irrationally hopeful the full London cast (or at least the main four actors, or Tveit if they insist on a Broadway star) would transfer. It’s a revival that I would plan a New York City trip around.
I am resigned to the idea that it probably won’t happen. But at least we have the proshot.

Can we please get Tveit or a Dan who can sing? I know Jamie Parker has his fans, and he is probably my favourite Dan so this probably sounds contradictory (though I never saw Brian D’arcy James but I saw the others live so Spencer, Jason D, the US tour Dan etc). But I’m just sick of Jamie's horse voice now after Into the Woods. I’m just over exposed. I want a singer who can act not an actor who can ‘sing’.

I had no issues with the singing voice of any Dan except Jamie Parker, whose acting more than made up for it and as a consequence he is my favourite Dan though. But he did the west end run, we have a pro shot. I’d like someone else to have a go, personally. His voice far weaker than all his co-stars it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. I don’t need to see it again and want to hear someone else in the role.
Jason D’s voice is still stronger than Jamie and seeing him against real wife Marin was a life changing theatrical experience. I look back very fondly.

I think it would be so cool to see Tveit go from playing "Gabe" in the original run to "Dan" in the revival. Does he have any interest in doing the revival?

My guess is that the numbers don't work. The original production of Next to Normal cost 4 million dollars. It would probably cost 12 million today because everything is out of control.
