I've been looking into songs for auditions for a female villain, but I can't find any good ones. I don't want to get into Disney, or anything everyone knows and is more than likely overdone. I would rather it be more of an evil queen or princess vibe, but I'll can consider anything. I have full range, so not so worried about that. Any ideas?

What about Cheno's song from the Descendants movie? I doubt that's overdone or familiar, even if it is Disney.  :)

Not sure what the feeling is these days on using music from TV musicals, but Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Galavant both have some pretty delightful villainness-type songs. CEG's "I'm The Villain In My Own Story" is a "Poor Unfortunate Souls" parody, and "No One But You" from Galavant is a "becoming the evil queen" sort of song.

"Ms Baltimore Crabs" from Hairspray - I know it's "popular" (add Cheno pun here), but people don't of that as an audition song.

What about All Falls Down from Chaplin? I like it as a villain song.

I don't know how well this would show off your voice but as a song from the 2nd sequel to a not very popular franchise, I feel like this probably isn't done very often.

I know you said no Disney but just because I feel like sharing...

It's not a woman's song but "Forbidden Fruit" from The Apple Tree is not that far from a woman's range and you could always transpose it. You could also look at the Lady or Tiger section of the show. Particularly "Tiger, Tiger."

I guess there's Sensitivity from Once Upon a Mattress but it's not a favorite of mine.

"Falling in Love with Love" is from The Boys From Syracuse but it was used for the Disney Cinderella, sung by Bernadette Peters as the evil stepmother. There's also Stepsister's Lament.

It's not really a villain song but I love "Way Back to Paradise" from Marie Christine.

Not really a villain song but you could show off your range.

Definitely a villain song but it's not from musical theater and I don't think it would do much to display your voice like most pop songs.

"Ti Voglio/Be Italian" from Nine isn't really a villain song but it gives me strong "Poor Unfortunate Souls" vibes. It certainly sounds like a villain song.

Similarly, there's "Good N' Evil" from Jekyll & Hyde which sounds like a villain song.

I could think of better examples in opera but they're difficult to sing and probably not right for you want. But I maintain that context is not that important with audition or even recital songs. You could do "I Feel Pretty" or "I Enjoy Being a Girl" with performance, costuming, and staging. You can create your own context.

‘All Good Things Must End’ is a song written for Ursula in the stage adaptation of THE LITTLE MERMAID but ultimately not used. It’s on YouTube and the sheet music is fairly easy to get hold off.

‘Daddies Little Angel’ the song that replaced the replacement for the above! Not on the cast recording so won’t be done by too many people.

‘I’m The Bad Guy’ from WANDER OVER YONDER is really corny but would be fun for the tight audition. I’d imagine you’d have to pay to have it transcribed.

‘Off With Thier Heads’ from WONDERLAND again it’s corny but right for certain stuff.

Their are songs for both the Evil Queen and the Wicked Witch in the musical episode of ONCE UPON A TIME but the lyrics are pretty terrible in places. If like the melody however you would probably be able to do an audition cut that eliminates the worst offenders!

‘I Hate Musicals’ from RUTHLESS the lyrics on the new recording are better than the original ones.

‘Those Were The Good Old Days’ from DAMN YANKEES is fabulous. It isn’t rangey but as it’s written for a man, you’d be able to adapt it and put in some top notes without it seeming too vulgar as anyone listening will expect a different interpretation anyway.

‘I Want It Now’ from WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is a great song. Great driving accompaniment. Played as a physo child like grown up, it could be fabulous.

Bartok The Magnificent is a terrible film that has two delightful villain songs.
Andrea Martin's sorceress sings "Someone's In My  House."
Catherine Keener's evil queen sings "The Real Ludmilla."

Not sure how popular these songs are for auditions, but at least they're from older or only moderately-popular shows:

Wild and Reckless (Drat! The Cat!)
Pirate Jenny (The Threepenny Opera)
Tell Me (Marie Christine)
The Pricklepear Bloom (The Robber Bridegroom)
I Walk Away (The Visit)

As another poster mentioned, you could also try repurposing a song that could be played in a more villainous way than the norm. Eg:

I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You (Evita)
Mein Herr (Cabaret)
Glitter and be Gay (Candide)

I don't know how popular these songs are - but they are relatively known:  They don't all sound villainy - but are sung by characters who are not necessarily "good" at the time the songs are sung.

Whatever Lola Wants or A Little Talent from Damn Yankees

To Keep My Love Alive from Connecticut Yankee

You've Got Possibilities from It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman

Diva from Starmites

Killer Queen from We Will Rock You
