Most of the internationals went out yesterday - the handful that were left, probably fifty, went out this morning and the helper is on her way to the office to ship whatever came in yesterday and this morning.
Just got my copy!!! Excellent work. Love all the pictures. It's like I'm hearing it for the first time. I will be listening nonstop this weekend. Thanks BK and Kritzerland!!!
Mine came today and I just finished listening to it for the 1st time and it was indeed a magical musical trip for me. Thanks for including "One More Kiss" with Justine Johnson and Victoria Mallory. It was truly stunning and made me cry! Thanks for bringing new life to a recording that I own on vinyl but now can listen to whenever I want on a CD--I'm a Follies-Aholic out and proud!
I was just thinking, this is the nicest thread on BroadwayWorld! A bunch of people sharing information, showing appreciation for a great show (Follies), and a talented person who took the time to do justice to the recording (bk). No snarks, no insults, just thanks! And on that note, I'm going to wait by my mailbox now!
Damn you people who I assume live in or by LA and gettingit already. I hope it shows up here by the end of next week.
Just for the record, living "by" LA isn't all it's cracked up to be. Palm Springs mail goes from LA northwest to San Bernardino and then is allowed to sit and gather mold. Only then it is handed to the Pony Express riders who work in shifts to bring mail to the desert.
Even if I mail a letter to my next-door neighbor, it will still go to San Bernardino and sit for awhile. No one knows why.
Just got mine this morning! (in Seattle for the geography/receive trackers)
I just put it on and the beautiful prologue is stunning. Thanks again Bruce! I know this is a dream come true for you and many others. Wheeee!!!!! It's a miracle it was the mixing of the recording that has always been the issue. We can bemoan the cuts to the score 'till the cows come home, but this remix/remaster is a revelation.
These comments make me very happy and I will pass them on to my engineer, John Adams, who knows what I like and is an incredible collaborator. I'm also passing some of them on to Mr. Sondheim.
It might be my speakers but was there some irreparable damage to Broadway Baby? Seems to be a bit of hiss there, but again, could be my listening device.
