Hey as long as Rock of Ages gets best Musical and Constantine Maroulis gets best Actor, I'll be happy. Heck I'll be tickled if he or ROA gets nominated.

>Atkinson is definitely the lead, and Lansbury is definitely featured.<
Right now, Atkinson and Lansbury are both above the title, which puts them into Best Actress consideration, unless the producers campaign for one or the other to be submitted for Best Featured Actress consideration. That decision is made by the Tony Administration Committee and to my knowledge, no ruling has been announced yet on Blithe Spirit. The Tony Admin meets at a couple of different points during the year to rule on shows that have recently opened, so we'll know more soon.
I thought the Tonys discarded that 'above the title' crap a few years ago???

The committee will eventually rule...I'm thinking that Ms. Lansbury will be considered Leading and perhaps Ms. Atkinson will go Featured (if only to have a chance of winning?). The committee will twice before the nominations are announced (I think).
I thought it was pretty much unanimously agreed upon that Lansbury would be considered for Featured...
And another thing, calling a person retarded is not only unppofessional, it's just in bad taste in these current cirrcumstances.
Why would anyone have to be professional when posting in a public internet forum?
If the producers are smart, they'll petition Lansbury for Featured (where she'll almost surely win.)
I don't know if they really mean be professional. I think it is more like be respectful when you post. Understand that not everyone shares your opinion.

Shame HAPPINESS isn't eligible... There's definitely Tony-worthy noms across the board. How come it's Off-Broadway when South Pacific is considered Broadway? I know they're in different theaters, but both are at Lincoln Center Theater..same building/address, right?
btw--Predictions are always fun and everyone's entitled to their own. Just saying...
ROA won't get sh*t at the awards.
"How come it's Off-Broadway when South Pacific is considered Broadway? I know they're in different theaters, but both are at Lincoln Center Theater..same building/address, right? "
The Beaumont where South Pacific is has more than 500 seats. That classifies it as a Broadway theatre. The Newhouse, where happiness is, has less than 300.
Might as well add my own 2 cents..!

An obvious ATOTC fan...but the only one I can see them having a very great chance in winning would be Best Lighting...who knows!??!
EDIT: Idiot forgetfullness with the Featured Actress group!

Ok, I know you state you are a TOTC fan, but, there is no way that Natalie Toro (as much as I love her) will be nominated and not Karen Olivo
Best Featured Actress
Natalie Toro
Stephanie J Block
Megan Hilty
Hadyn Gwynne
Martha Plimpton
Ha ha, as if...
I somehow forgot to put her name on there (and originally meant to? I guess I just typed too quickly!) -- and changed it.
I'm not suggesting by any means Natalie Toro will win, but rather should get a nomination. Olivo or Gwynne will win IMO.
I think there will be a lot of surprises this year, but I think the following things are locks:
Raul Esparza winning Best Actor in a Play
Karen Olivo winning for West Side Story (or, by a nose, Martha Plimpton for Pal Joey)
Angela Lansbury winning for Featured Actress in a Play
Billy Elliot winning for Best Musical
With the following actors definitely at least getting nominated: Alice Ripley, Josefina Scaglione, Brian D'Arcy James, Sutton Foster, the three Billys, Christopher Seiber, Marc Kudisch, the three 9 to 5 ladies...
And despite the love some people have for her, Natalie Toro will definitely not be nominated. The only nomination ATOTC might get is for Barbour.
I wouldn't be so sure about Esparza.
Rush is apparently incredible in EXIT THE KING.
I think SJB has Featured Actress in the bag.

- Riiiiiiight.
It'll be interesting to see the race's outcome. I think it's gonna be close between Hilty, Block, and Olivo but I bet the 9 TO 5-ers will cancel eachother out and Olivo will win.
And deservedly so.

i guess were going to have to wait till SJB plays Mama Rose so she can FINALLY get her tony
..."finally"?
Or was that sarcastic?

i was under the impression that most people thought that Hadyn Gwynne was the front runner for Feat Actress in a Musical?
