I loved it. The ending still feels in flux, but I think the bones are all there. In particular, the three actors are giving truly top-shelf performances. You can tell the work they’ve done over the years in the rehearsal room has added immensely to the play itself.
It felt so good to be back in a Broadway theater. There’s just nothing like it. And I’m so happy to return to a Broadway house seeing what is sure to be one of the highlights of the year. A great start to the 2021-22 season, to be sure.
The cast seriously is so damn good. I’m such a big fan of Jön Michael Hill from “Elementary” and i had no idea he was in this, so when i saw him I just gave a little yelp lol

If anyone is still looking for a way to see this cheaply, the playwright is giving out one-time use codes for $40 tickets if you DM her on Instagram. Not sure what the prices are now, but I know I paid about $80 for my orchestra seat but was able to get my friend a seat near me for $40 with the code I got from Antoinette.

The same can be done if you lose the online lottery. A discount code gets sent out for $40 seats almost anywhere in the house (minus premium seats).
Has anyone heard talks of Andrea Syglowski going on for Gabriel? I'd be interested to see how that changes the dynamic of the character.

Nothing yet but I’m stalking their social media pages because I would like to see that too. I think it could totally change the energy of the piece.
Not for anything, but how exciting is it to finally have a new previews thread? Hopefully the first of many!

Very! I'm thinking about starting reopening night threads of the previously-opened shows as well when the time comes... all projects deserve the attention after this long shutdown.
Just in: the show will now officially open on August 22, three weeks earlier than originally scheduled.
Gotta get those reviews out to help juice sales! I wish it and then all the best. Loved the show.

I hope that's a good thing and that the producers aren't eyeing an early closure.

Producer Matt Ross, in a statement:
“We built our schedule with more time than we would need knowing there was a real possibility we would need to delay rehearsals or previews. Thanks to the extraordinary work of everyone in this company, we've been able to safely mount this production on schedule, and we're now able to advance our opening night to August 22nd. We will still hold a larger scale celebration on September 12th, out of respect to those who have planned for that date and so that we have the time to plan how to celebrate this moment safely, but at the scale that it merits."

So there’s a 3 PM performance that day - is that opening or are they adding an evening show.
And I saw the statement from the producer as well, but what do they gain from moving up opening by 3 weeks unless it’s to ensure that the show actually does open?

Publicity.

This. Get the critics in as soon as possible AND allow the show to open in the event it either needs to close early or gets paused because of COVID.

Caught this show today - what a piece! Highly recommend to anyone who is ready to head back into a theatre.

Anyone who has been this week, how have the houses been looking?
The orchestra looked full to me today. Can’t speak to the mezz.
I’d say yes. The stage/set is raised so you’re really looking up. I sat 4th row center and I would have been fine moving back another 3 or 4 rows.
