Ok, so plot...
First of all, I do think this is a show where it's better to go in blind, so I'll give a quick non-spoiler description and then a more detailed one in spoiler tags.
Non-spoiler:
Basically, there is a VERY problem-prone President going through a few problems and a couple of minor scandals with a VERY busy, VERY important day ahead of him. The women who run the White House, White as his COS, Nakamura as his Press Sec, and Dratch as the President's secretary (along with Williams as FLOTUS), are forced to constantly clean up the messes he's making and keep his day on track. Unbeknownst to them, there are several high-profile scandals rocketing towards the White House (in the form of Hough and Delaria) that the four women will soon need to address as well as a very nosy journalist (Cooper) poking around. The problems crash land, everything goes to ****, and, as Joshdog said, hilarity ensues.
BIG SPOILERS:
Hough is his pregnant mistress and Delaria is his convict sister who he's pardoning because he's out of his mind. He has a secret health condition that makes it so he can't sit down for the time being and that's the driver of a lot of the problems. The first act is the three staffers dealing with the original problems and the mistress and sister showing up at the White House, causing more problems. Venessa Williams jumps between problem and problem solver throughout the first act.
At the end of the first act, all of the women come together when two different established groups collide. Cooper ends up hidden in a closet and records a VERY incriminating conversation. When she's revealed they all get into a fight trying to steal her phone to erase what she recorded. She throws a bust and hits POTUS in the head. They think they've killed him and the second act is them trying to cover it up while also not creating TOO much suspicion.

Got out just past 10 after starting a little before 8:10 with a 15 minute intermission."
Short and sweet (which I thought was PERFECT)!

Any rush/lottery policies announced?

And (one of?) the set looks like a White House conference with the podium, seal, blue walls, etc. Audience members received campaign buttons with the show logo on it. A few tweets are of the "funniest things I've seen in a long time", "haven't laughed this hard" variety."
I somehow missed the buttons and I'm really sad about it, especially because the merch table wasn't ready yet!
Speaking of merch, I really hope they get good merch! I'd LOVE to see the heeled Crocs on a pin or something and I really hope they have some "in-universe" merch of the feminist organization from the show. That was one of my favorite bits!

I would love to hear about a rush or lottery policy for this too. I did find the BroadwayBox code, which is a decent discount:
Removing this because there's a better code. Use this one: POTMC310
Thanks Jkcohen for the spoilers explaining plot and to memorableusername for link to the broadwaybox discount code. Just bought a ticket for the first Friday night of my July trip. When I first heard about the show I thought it might be more political & with bitter humor, which I don't think I have the energy for. This sounds lighter.

I was really curious just HOW tied to recent events this would be, and I would say apart from the broad concept of “laughing at an incompetent president,” it really isn’t connected at all. Some mentions of nuclear war or global warming or such, but just in a situational way. Nothing to frustrate current politics fatigue. They even didn’t name the president, whenever characters referred to him they just called him “POTUS.” The political setting is just the set up for the comedy rather than an actual focus of the show, so I can affirm that it’s definitely a lighter, enjoyable, non-exhausting show.

It is so refreshing and encouraging to hear that this is more of a pure comedic farce and isn’t really political/partisan! Makes me look much more forward to it.

Oh, this reminds me that I was struck yesterday by the marquee and tickets reading “POTUS A FARCE” when I hadn’t seen it necessarily marketed/titled that way before.
I was already excited to have booked this for next week, now even more so! Thanks for your thoughts, everyone.
(No covid cancellations, no covid cancellations, no covid cacellations.....)

There is ONE line that expresses a liberal position on a hot button issue (it's a "stupid character says something surprisingly poignant" moment). It definitely got applause, but that was it.
Other than that, I would liken it to Veep. It's definitely more slapstick/pure comedy than Veep, but it has a similar focus on the absurdity of the political maneuvering without going into the politics themselves.

Thank you! That's great to hear!
Saw this last night and had a blast! It was so funny, felt refreshing to see a true farce-style comedy. The set is really cool with the turntable setup to show all the different rooms. I was wondering if people know what songs are used in the mega-mix? I caught Eye of the Tiger, Roar, Breakin' Dishes, and I Hate Myself for Loving You. Overall just a really fun night, with a super talented cast (and crocs!)
Sounds fun and weird which I am SUPER into. Can't wait!
