With the understanding that it's still early in the life of the production, to those that have seen it: will the play hold up on its own without the stellar cast, or is this super special ensemble too intrinsic to it's success?
Reading these positive early notices have really piqued my interest! But alas, I fear a trip to NYC isn't in the cards for the foreseeable future -- might it work just as well on tour? (Yes, waaaaay in the future, I know!)
The only people who felt potentially too tied to their roles were Dratch and DeLaria. The characters just felt so... them. They're just such unique actresses.
However, I truly believe that there are actresses out there that could take on these roles, it would probably just be a markedly different characterization.
Saw the show last night and had SO much fun. The play is quick, funny, silly, messy, poignant… I could go on! It wasn’t the tightest preview I’ve seen - some fumbling of lines, some slight tech moments that most probably didn’t catch. But the audience and I were laughing from the very first line, which sets up the tone of the evening perfectly!
The whole cast is strong but the stand out for me was Julie White - she has the most rounded character and her physical comedy is just so spot on.
Definitely go check this one out - it was such a relief to be laughing in the theatre again for two hours straight.
Two rows have been added to the front of orchestra. At least for the Wednesday night, April 20 performance. I’m watching reruns of SVU - so my full seating report is incomplete!
I have moved from row B to row AA, and saved $20 with the POTMC310 code.
A bunch of orchestra and mezzanine seats have been released for the "opening" matinee on April 27. With the discount code POTMC310, most seats are $99 or less.
Word of mouth will always drive ticket sales. Got a refund on my Macbeth tickets because too many people I respect really dislike the production. It sounds like a confusing mess. Was looking for a replacement. POTUS was barely on my radar, but so many are raving about it. Funny, witty, and just a good time…much needed these days. Got my tickets and can’t wait to laugh.
Adding to the chorus of praise for this one. Truly such a fun night at the theatre. I’ve been telling friends they don’t make farces like they used to and this was the answer to my prayers. Every actor was perfect in their roles; perfectly cast. My favorite was Rachel Dratch but honestly shocked at how much I loved Julianne Hough. The think the possible Tony noms would be set, lights, and Julie White. I could see this getting a play nom if the nominators are in a silly goofy mood.
Rushed this morning around 11 and was in Orch far right, but no sightline issues.

To anyone who has seen: go for front row left Mezz, or Orch row G or H left or right (close to far side)? Going with someone who is 5'3", so a little concerned about being blocked by tall people in orchestra, but also don't want to be too far removed from the action. Appreciate any guidance!

Sure, but it remains to be seen how much the WOM can drive sales for this specific play. It's hard to go from 0 to 100, or even 0 to 65 when it comes to full price tickets (or even a sustainable number of discount tickets). Plenty of shows have had good WOM and reviews but still crashed and burned at the box office (DOLL'S HOUSE 2, GARY, and HAND TO GOD are 3 recent comedic plays that come to mind). We'll see what happens.
It feels like they are still trying to find their rhythm though and there was hesitancy with some lines. But they are in previews and will hopefully settle into it. I thought the direction was fine for all that is going on and how much that turntable turns.
The set is really cool. And as far as sight lines are concerned, the turntable set is framed so it pushes practically all of the action center stage. A few things happen a bit to the side but are pretty much very visible.
I suspect Dratch may do a bit of adding a bit here and there. She did something tonight that had the cast about to lose it. And she is a riot throughout the show. Julie White delivered some great lines but just seemed detached or something. Suzy Nakamura was my favorite.
With that said, all in all it is just a fun,and very funny, night. A whole lot of laughs and just a blast seeing all of these women together onstage. Some stinging lines and a lot of laughs. You have to see the Crocs in person and Dratch just being Rachel Dratch. She had me on the floor. And in the end it is all about female empowerment. I say, if you are thinking about seeing it, do so and just go with it. It is a fun night at the theater.

I was sitting back in row L and it appeared those seats are not super close. I would still suggest sitting farther back. I was house left 6 seats in and the view was great.

I got Orchestra L 25-27 and despite being all the way on the side aisle it was perfect. Since everything happens in the center absolutely nothing was cut off (despite me thinking it would be partial view due to lighting rigs beforehand) and obviously it was a perfect distance from the stage.
I see row AA on TeleCharge, but NOT telechargeoffers... however I don't see any performances the weekend I am there (May 12-15) where any seats in row AA are on sale. I can't believe every single seat in that row have already sold out for a whole weekend of performances. (Plus, I checked some other dates as well.) Anyone know what's up with these tickets? Why they don't even show up on telecharge offers and why they don't seem to be on sale on the main site? Thanks!
Adding another voice to the chorus of praise! What an absolute blast this show is. We need some levity right now, and this show delivers. It's absolutely silly, the cast nails it, and the show flies by (I believe it's barely two hours with intermission). Hard to imagine this not being a huge success!
I laughed my ass off tonight. TDF tickets, Orch S9. Still some timing issues to work out...some lines were dropped or delivered on top of each other. Julie White actually felt the roughest on timing, but there's no doubt she'll get there. Rachel Dratch is a comedic genius. I wouldn't be surprised to see her sneak into the Tony race. And Julianne Hough was a delightful surprise. No real weak link in the cast, especially once they nail all of the comedic beats. A few of the scenes didn't land quite as much as the strongest ones...but that's standard...
Really, this was a delight. I highly recommend it.

I see row AA in telechargeoffers on sale *before* opening matinee on April 27th for $112.
I noticed both on telecharge and telechargoffers that row AA seem to be not on sale or blocked or all sold out.
