Really, this play? It's paper thin, and mostly undramatic.

I do always wonder why people pick certain projects. Like, I felt like the last show with Danny Devito was so "blah." And I'm like this is what got him to do Broadway? So I'd hope this play was something exciting to get them both back. But maybe they just wanted to work together?

The best part about this announcement? Chris Harper will once again pay Patti's salary!

After reading a review of another production of this play, you can see how this would appeal to them as the two characters fall into the types both are known for. Lupone the wilder woman with the past & Farrow as the quieter type broadening her horizons through this new friendship.
The matinees should all sell well.

I suppose I'm inclined to believe this because there are so many details included, but I feel like someone needs to point out that this doesn't seem to be an actual press release and I haven't seen other outlets pick it up (unless I've missed something). I'm sure this isn't substantiated on nothing, but I'm surprised there hasn't been an official announcement either yet.

No interest in this snooze property of a play paired with two histrionic actresses. Mia is long past her acting prime in my opinion. Again, just my opinion, so don’t crucify me.
I can’t even imagine the inflated prices they will be charging for this so called event. I wonder if they will even get along. Both require a lot of attention.

But not as much attention as you require, apparently.

Ms Lupone is a consumate professional. She simply expects the people she works with - and the audience - to be as responsible & respectful.

Just your opinion, sure. But based on what? This might be the most front and center Farrow has been in an acting project since she and Woody Allen were still on speaking terms. Did you see her in something during the last 30 years you thought she was bad in, or is this a more general she's 79, and I don't think old people can act thing?

Count me as another person most excited that Jen Silverman is making their Broadway debut. Curious if the people judging the play have seen it -- I see it's been kicking around for a while, so I guess it's very possible that people in this thread have seen it or read it. I'll admit that I haven't, but what I HAVE seen of their work is the last thing I'd describe as a "snooze." They have a really distinct style, and a fun theatrical flair, from what I've seen.

I think elderly actors can turn in wonderful performances late in life. The most recent things I’ve seen her in are The Watcher and The Omen both of which were campy and wooden performances.

Just realized this is starting essentially the same time as “Sunset Blvd” so every single interview Patti does for this will undoubtedly bring it up. I think I’m more excited for that than this play.

I have an idea for all the people who hate Patti LuPone and older women: don’t go see this play! There, that was easy!
I, on the other hand, can’t wait to see these two legends together on stage.

I saw the Steppenwolf production on 7/05/2018 with Sandra Marquez and Ora Jones. Solid little play, just one act. Interesting, but sort of slight for Broadway. Reminds me of another Chicago play A Steady Rain, which ended up on Broadway with two major stars, Jackman and Craig.
BTW, Marquez and Jones had actually been roommates in real life before being cast in the Steppenwolf production.
Is Patti playing Sharon or Robyn?

Sure! I’ll ask Mandy Patinkin, Laura Benanti, Audra McDonald, Michael Cerveris, Boyd Gaines, Kevin Anderson, Aubrey Plaza and Joe Locke, etc etc etc
They all seem to hate her /sarcasm
