I love Marc. Although, by making his mother Patti LuPone, this does limit him from making any Patti LuPone references in the future, so that's mildly disappointing.

Some of us have been discussing this on the off-topic board. Funny when someone mentioned that Marc's mother would be making an appearance, I suggested that LuPone should play the part. She doesn't know he is gay, sounds a bit reminiscent of the Jack coming out episode on Will & Grace.

Well that explains his orientation,
like Babs and her son
Barbara Cook and hers.....
Does Patti's real son have a chance?

*Faints from sheer joy. Picks self up*
Wow. I have a Thursday night class and have been watching Ugly Betty online (which is tough because it takes forever and a day to do so with all the starting and stopping). But when LuPone is on, I am taping it.

Is there a link to anything where we can find out dates? I looked on tvguide.com and nothing came up about it...?

All that was said was that it would be an episode in the spring.
Regardless of her voice, talent, or status, if they cast purely on looks, it's definitely a match, methinks.

Too funny,
I just hope she doesn't sing, I hate her voice, and I use the word "voice" loosely.

I don't know if this was said anywhere, but Jesse Tyler Ferguson is going to be on the show on the 15th as Betty's orthodontist, as per tvguide.com

That's the best news I've heard all month!
Right now, I can't even fathom just how great those episodes will be.

That's some inspired casting. I wasn't a fan of Frasier, but LuPone was just so top-notch on that show. She really excels at those character roles on television and I hope this becomes a recurring character for Ugly Betty.

I still think Stockard Channing would have been a better choice for Mark's mother. Of course it depends on what the storyline is, but Stockard can portray an icy-ness that I think would work well with Wilhelmina.

According to IMDB tonight and next week are both repeats, just a heads up so you don't get too excited.

Perfect casting.
