I've noticed that Tom Nelis has been doing a production of KING LEAR for a short run at La Mama the past few weeks; he's still on or back on the show's website; does anyone know who played Grandfather while he was out?

EDIT: Never mind, found it. It was Paul Slade Smith.

Ross just posted he’ll be out the final week of March; I don’t think I realized Jason Forbach is a Mother’s “Younger” Brother understudy. Younger is doing a lot of heavy lifting there considering he’s 2-3 years Levy’s senior.

I mentioned earlier in this thread that I once ushered for a local community theatre production of Ragtime. It actually did so well commercially, that they extended the run. As a result, I was invited back to usher for an additional performance. Although the actor who was initially playing Younger Brother couldn't continue. So a replacement (who was notably older than the actress playing Mother) came in...and he didn't look nor felt convincing in the role.

Josha Henry was glorious on The View this am. Please watch it. I'm not ashamed to say it made me cry. Ragtime feels more important than ever right now.

Is there any reason to believe LCT is planning to film the show or already has for TOFT or Great Performances?

A number of people are still waiting for the live capture of the 2023 reunion concert to premiere. I've read that it's currently on hold because of this revival.

is ‘till we reach this day’ usually directed like this? The quality of the vocals, the ensemble member who has an amazing featured part and most of all the absolute horror and despair coming from the actors it was almost frightening in the most moving way. God it ‘hits’ deep and I can’t tell if this is inherent in the material or if this production took it to new places. In general, the quality of the acting and singing in this production is next level!!

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Curious to hear about another extension soon?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I was just coming here to ask about this. Can't make it to NYC until July so I'm hopeful for another extension...

Allison Blackwell, as Sarah’s Friend, is otherworldly singing/preaching this song. If you are not emotionally devastated by the shear impact of this number by her and the entire cast and feeling THEIR emotions pouring out at you onstage, you do not have a beating heart!!!!

It's possible that this has been discussed in this thread, but Joshua Henry no longer seems to be doing any Sunday performances, according to the Telecharge calendar? Is this a new development?

I posted about this here a couple months ago when John Clay posted about it on Instagram, but I don’t think it was ever announced officially.

Could be wrong but I think it was always effective from whenever the extension happened and more tickets went on sale? Ie it’s not an Audra situation. Pre planned and I guess negotiated.

This started with the Jan 11th performance, and was announced alongside the extension but a lot of people probably missed it due to being secondary news to the extension itself.

I still wish it was Tiffany Mann from CC her performance was far more powerful as Sarah's friend!

"

Yes it was- i think he stopped doing Sundays after the New Year, and when you went on any ticket site, it asterisked every Sunday show with a note that he'd be out.

He returns to Sundays for Tony voting in May, through the end of the run.

For now. I'll guess and say another extension happens depending on their Tony wins.
