Because he's already a lock for one of the nominees and frontrunner for the award.

He's not. He is out tonight with a cold, and he doesn't work on Sundays.

Perhaps it's an error because Telecharge has this information and Joshua said on his stories that he was out tonight. But, perhaps they haven't updated it besides tonight's performance.
Joshua Henry will not appear at Sunday matinees with these exceptions: May 17, May 24, May 31, and August 2. He will not perform on April 30.
Caissie Levy will not appear May 10 and June 13 @ 2pm.
Colin Donnell's final performance will be July 19.
Ben Levi Ross' final performance will be July 12.
John Clay III will not appear May 22-24.
Anna Grace Barlow and Nick Barrington will play their final performances on June 14.

Saw today’s matinee. Enjoyed it thou found the second act a bit of a slog. The bf did not enjoy it but commented on how appreciative he was of the set lol
If this were to transfer to UK it has Chichester Festival Theatre stamped all over it even down the entrance’s from the front of the stage and Chichester love a good comedy kid!
Stand out for me was Allison Blackwell as Sarah’s Friend singing act one closer Till We Reach That Day - I was sat really close and I thought she was PHENOMENAL, I really was taken aback by her emoting, she really seemed to be living the song not just performing it and it’s genuinely a performance il remember forever. I say give her the Tony!
I loved the Vivienne - the free lockers, the signs telling you where the end of the toilet queues are, the simple yet plush feeling lobby, as we say in the UK — I am well jel

I didn't lie. I got a notice. Why do you always assume to worst in people? It is a reflection on you.
Posted: 5/4/26 at 4:29pm
There was no notice. From Lincoln Center, Telecharge, BroadwayDirect or TodayTix. He was on all Saturday. He confirmed that himself. Feel free to post the notice tho. And it's a reflection on you that didn't thank me for that information, like any other person would do who tried to actually help them.

Everything becomes about Sutton Ross tormenting anyone that doesn't kiss his ass.

Is this groundbreaking for a RAGTIME production? Nope, but still hit hard.
Lear deBessonet just knew how to stage those scenes and effortless took direction to create images without a single thing (hyperbole!) on that stage. I kept looking how things were being managed and felt like it's a very clever part of the production this direction. I know many people didn't liked that, but I dig hard.
The cast? Probably my favorite of all of these musicals. The 5 actors nominated earned those noms even tho Uranowitz was maybe not 100% the night I saw.
Ben Levi Ross may be the only musical nominee that was stronger in the book scenes than in musical numbers, that applause on open scene during that moment with Father was stunning.
Henry is outta this world, he acts for the last person of that Mezz but works damn well, I will likely remember his performance for many many years.
Caissie Levy has this amazing presence, and when it came to ''Back to Before'' I was speechless.
I have to say that Nichelle has such a different tone from Audra that it was strange some moments, but I still wept at ''Wheels of a Dreams''.
As a whole it's a reminder that this piece has one of my, don't know, 10 favorite scores of a Broadway musical? And to see it live with THAT cast was a dream.

This article says Ragtime's run ends "this summer"- so I guess August 2 is the final extension, or maybe one more to Labor Day?

Which is why it should win Best Musical Revival"
David Buchanan did bring up in a recent Gold Derby column that the producers have been re-inviting awards voters to see it again. He thinks that will greatly help its chances for those to re-experience its emotional impact now if they haven't seen it since September.

I'm still expecting Cats: The Jellicle Ball to take it, but Ragtime pulling off the win wouldn't surprise me.

Ben Davis just posted on social media that he will be replacing Colin Donnell as Father, which is much better casting.
Will be a short run if the show is indeed not extending and closing in July.

Colin is a fantastic Father, and he has a great presence especially his scenes with Joshua. And Ragtime isn't closing in July, it's closing in August.

They should really just rename the character to "Zaddy" now.

Interestingly, Davis is only stepping in from June 16th through July 20th. Unsure who comes in for the remaining two weeks of the run.

Matthew Scott (current understudy for Father) will play the role for the last two weeks of the run

I suppose / assume this is his warmup for the tour?
Posted: 6/2/26 at 12:33pm
Matthew Scott will be great. He was brought into the Broadway cast due to his excellent Father. He performed the role in DC at the Signature Theater. He will perform the role better than Colin - both vocally and as an actor. Davis will be absolutely fantastic. These men will only help the cast as a whole - something that should have been done long ago.
Posted: 6/3/26 at 1:21am
They didn't. They are all pros. They don't have a director so they had to be.
Colin is the weak link of the show and has been since NYCC. The two men replacing him will be better.
