Colin is the weak link of the show and has been since NYCC. The two men replacing him will be better."
Yeah, it has "no director". Just like with your bulls*it regarding The Lost Boys, that is a lie. Ms. deBessonet gave us exceptional direction but simple folks like you probably didn't get it. She is the sole female nominee. She is incredibly talented.
Colin is a phenomenal performer and has been there for all the big moments, the last two weeks don't really matter anyway, as everyone who has wanted to see the show has already. Ragtime will win a lot of Tonys as they are the one show that never lost momentum since day 1. Deal with it.

I couldn’t disagree more. I thought Colin was great, and one of my takeaways from this production was that Father is a much bigger role than I remembered. To each their own of course, but I’m curious what you think he should have done differently (which is the same question I have for people who weren’t taken by Caisie’s Mother)."
100% Agree! Colin is spectacular in the role and his singing is beautiful!

It’s Hard Being a Mom on Broadway. Even for ‘Mother’ in ‘Ragtime.’

Given that Michael Paulson wrote this, and also interviews Tony voters, I think he may be tipping his hand. But it’s not a surprise either.

Has there been any discussion on a Proshot for this production? It seems like it would fit in perfectly for PBS Great Performances.

You speak in fact as if your opinion dictates the truth. Colin felt like one of the most solid and believable actors in their role all evening. This is all taste based, but I don’t think there’s a need to trash him more than anyone else. At worst everyone was fine in their roles.

No official announcement yet, but tix on sale on telecharge through 8/16

Has Ragtime actually made money for LCT? As large as the show is - even with the prices - will it make a profit ? That cast and orchestra are enormous.

That's lovely they are extending it by a few weeks!

Do note though: With this additional 2-week extension, Joshua Henry will not be playing Coalhouse Walker Jr., the following performances:
Saturday August 8th @ 2PM, Sunday August 9th @ 3PM, and both performances Saturday August 15th

Any Linctix available for the extension?

The weekend ending December 28th of last year, it was the highest weekly gross in LCT history if that isn't true that this show is close to making a profit, idk what is...

Casting changes for the extension:
Ben Levi Ross will play his final performance as Mother's Younger Brother July 12, and will be succeeded by Jake Pedersen (Parade) July 14-26, and by Nicholas Barrón July 28-August 16.
Playing their final performances June 14 will be Colin Donnell as Father, Anna Grace Barlow as Evelyn Nesbit, and Nick Barrington as The Little Boy. Ben Davis will play Father June 16-July 19 and August 4-16, and Matthew Scott will take over the role July 21-August 2. Barlow will be succeeded by Morgan Marcell June 16-July 16, with Marina Kondo playing the role July 17-August 16. Understudy Jackson Parker Gill will assume the role of The Little Boy full-time beginning June 16, with Greyson Chapman joining as the role's new understudy.
Shaina Taub and Ellie May Sennett will play their final performances as, respectively, Emma Goldman and The Little Girl August 2. Julie Benko will return to again succeed Taub August 4-16, and Tabitha Lawing will return to again play The Little Girl alongside current understudy Aerina DeBoer August 4-16.

Yeah, it has "no director". Just like with your bulls*it regarding The Lost Boys, that is a lie. Ms. deBessonetgave us exceptional direction but simple folks like you probably didn't get it. She is the sole female nominee. She is incredibly talented.

Nah, it still has no director. It has a good show and good cast. The direction is quite weak. Sorry it's true.

And yes, Ben Davis is much better casting and vocal. Sorry Colin is average at best in the role.

I'm not sure this show will recoup? It's sold well for them but with the size of it ... could is actually MAKE money?

None of that's true, it won Best Revival even though you said it would never, it's been making great money since last September, and you're done trashing this show.
Hope that's clear enough for you 😘

Any reason they just don't extend through the end of the year? Does LCT have something else lined up? Seems crazy they wouldn't milk the cow for more.

Supposedly LCT has two productions lined up for the Beaumont in the coming season, one for the fall and one for the spring.

I had heard that whatever is going in there for the Fall was going to be moved to a different theater so Ragtime could extend until the end of the year.

I imagine a combination of high cast turnover and LCT wanting the Beaumont open for upcoming productions made closing the best option. If they’re not in the green in terms of profit by the end of the final extension (not that it super matters), I’d be shocked, but it’ll definitely make money on the road.

Have to strongly disagree with your opinion of Colin. Of course, I have mine as well, and think he's spectacular as Father. He's pitch perfect and perfectly dislikable, as the role calls for!!! He will ALWAYS be known as Father in this Broadway revival cast, in my book!
